Atlantic Health System is Seeking a Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner in Pompton Plains, NJ
Atlantic Health System, one of New Jersey's largest non-profit healthcare networks, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join the expanding Palliative Care Service Line at Chilton Medical Center. This position offers a unique opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner to cultivate advanced palliative care skills while being part of a supportive, interdisciplinary team. You will work alongside another Nurse Practitioner, a physician, a social worker, a chaplain, and a hospice nurse, all dedicated to providing comprehensive care.
This is a Monday-to-Friday role with flexibility as needed. The Nurse Practitioner will perform comprehensive health histories, conduct physical assessments, and incorporate holistic care for patients with serious illnesses. Responsibilities include accurate and timely documentation and planning for the continuum of care. The ideal candidate will excel in symptom management and will primarily provide inpatient services, collaborating closely with primary care providers and specialists. A minimum of three years of nursing experience is required, with preference given to those with a background in oncology, hospice care, or the management of complex, chronic, and life-threatening conditions.

Qualifications
Master’s degree in nursing is required
Must be licensed or eligible for Advanced Practice Nurse licensure in New Jersey
Certified as an Advanced Practice Nurse
BLS certification is required
CDS registration and DEA number required
3 years of Palliative Care experience as a NP is preferred
Strong work ethic and a team player who can work independently
Familiar with billing practices, denials and appeals process
