Meet the team:

Dexcom's Partner Engineering team supports the expansion of our activities as the premier partnering organization in the diabetes technology space. Sr Android Software Development Engineer position supports technical collaboration and partnership product development under Dexcom's partnership programs.

Dexcom's partnership products, including data access models like the Dexcom API and Partner SDK, are designed to enable Dexcom's partners to develop their own great diabetes devices and software powered by Dexcom CGM data. Partnerships are supported by a dedicated cross-functional team that spans many Dexcom departments. Sr Android Software Development Engineer is part of that cross-functional team, serving as a critical interface between Dexcom and our partners.

Where you come in:Design and build Android Apps and/or SDKs for medical devices, ensuring adherence to Android platform guidelines.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.Develop automated unit and integration tests to maintain software reliability.Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues with both internal and external apps.Participate in design, code, test case reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain code quality and consistency.Utilize internal test infrastructure to ensure partner integrations meet technical, performance, safety, and cyber requirements.Interface with software test teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality products.Prepare necessary documentation for Apps/SDKs releases, such as release notes, sample apps and user guides.Continuously explore and evaluate new technologies to improve development efficiency.Ensure reliability, performance, memory use, power consumption and security of the Android Apps, adhering to regulatory and quality standards.Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.Communicate issues arising from partners adopting Dexcom's partnership products into their solutions to drive partnership product development and improve effectiveness.Disseminate partnership product functions and features to partners, work to understand partners' solutions, recommend the right Dexcom partnership products, and identify and anticipate partners' technical needs and obstacles to implementation.What makes you successful:

You are an expert in Android app development, with a strong focus on Kotlin & JavaYou have technical Leadership experienceYou have a proven track record of developing and delivering high-quality Android applications.You have the passion for collaborative problem-solving, sophisticated design, and creating high-quality products.Proficient in code versioning tools like Git and familiar with continuous integration.Strong knowledge of Android internals, Android Bluetooth stack, BLE peripherals, offline storage, threading and performance tuning.Experience with RESTful APIs, data parsing, and integration of third-party libraries.Experience with analytics tools (e.g., Firebase Crashlytics, DataDog) is a plus.You possess exceptional communication skills, are comfortable interacting with multiple people and teams, and have a strong sense for appropriate and varied messaging for internal vs. external/partner communications.You have significant experience troubleshooting interoperability issues.You have experience or interest in the software product development process for medical devices (esp. diabetes-related), particularly working in a design control environment.What you'll get:

Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 5 years related experience or Master's degree and 3 years equivalent industry experience or a PhD and 2 years of experience.

Flex Workplace:

Your primary location will be a home office. You will not have an assigned workstation and will work with your manager to determine office visit needs. You must live within commuting distance of your assigned Dexcom site (typically 75 miles/120km).
