Civil/Environmental Engineer

to support our expanding Environmental, Construction & Remediation practice in New England and New York (and beyond) managed from our

Lowell, MA and Boston, MA offices . Principal/Senior Principal Engineer

to join a growing and successful team and achieve greater personal success, while building TRC's engineering, construction, and remediation practice in the northeast and beyond. The successful candidate will have experience in the design and implementation of soil and groundwater remedies and will direct major projects and pursue business development opportunities with major industrial, institutional, and governmental clients. The successful candidate's efforts will be focused on, but not limited to, New England and New York. The successful candidate will also mentor, develop, and recruit experienced and emerging engineering talent to facilitate project work across technical disciplines.TRC's Lowell and Boston offices provide access to a broad spectrum of multi-disciplinary and collaborative colleagues who are excited to grow with a dynamic company and succeed through teamwork and managerial excellence. Responsibilities

Preparing and/or reviewing and managing written document preparation (designs, reports, proposals, etc.).Evaluating, designing, and implementing soil and groundwater remediation systems, including developing rationales and cost estimates, for a wide range of technical approaches.Preparing for and leading and/or participating in meetings with clients and regulators.Serving as a mentor and model to raise up staff to assume greater responsibility (managerially, technically, and for business development purposes).Shepherd the training and development of emerging staff talent through collaboration, coaching, and varied and diverse work assignments.Exhibit excellence in project management and technical planning/performance for client projects.Preparing, or directing the preparation of, work scopes, cost estimates, and plans, as well as directing the execution of remediation projects.Delegating work effectively to Subject Matter Experts, peers, and junior staff to meet project goals.Demonstrating model communications skills, both written and oral.Qualified candidates must be comfortable with periodic regional travel and client support and field work such as site visits/meetings and contractor direction/coordination.

Qualifications

BS degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering (with an advanced degree or complimentary additional degree a plus).Professional Certification(s): PE (such as MA, NH, ME, RI, CT, NY), LSP, LEP.Minimum 10 years (15+ preferred)

of groundwater and soil remediation experience in a consulting engineering firm environment.Experience with evaluating, designing, and implementing soil and groundwater remediation systems, including developing rationales and cost estimates is required.Experience directing multi-disciplinary project teams.Success in business development and client relationship management.Superior leadership skills.Success excelling in a dynamic consulting practice with multiple project assignments and challenges with consistent timely delivery of high-quality project outcomes on or under budget.Knowledge of Massachusetts environmental site remediation regulations and technical guidance (other New England States and New York are a plus).Demonstrated experience with design support, cost estimating, procurement (contracting, requests for proposals, and bid evaluations/selections) for high complexity projects.40 Hour HAZWOPER certification and current annual renewal.Preferred Qualifications:S., M.Eng., or PhD. degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering.PE
