Quality Inspector , reporting to the Quality Engineering Lead. The position is located in Simsbury, CT.Responsibilities:The Quality Inspector provides effective verification that manufactured product or processes are compliant to defined requirements. Responsibilities include:Inspection support for Shop Floor Production Cells.Measurement of product to prove dimensional compliance.Recording of inspection results in a clear and organized manner. Reviewing manufacturing build records to assure that all steps have been properly documented.Assist the Quality Engineer with the preparation of certification data packages, contract quality data packages and First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR).Proper documentation and control of non-conforming product.Assist the product team in the analysis of process and product defect data, including root-cause, and the implementation of corrective actions.Support role during internal and customer quality system and safety audits.Requirements:3 years of experience as an inspector in an aerospace, defense or medical environment.Experience with basic measuring equipment such as shadow graphs, calipers, micrometers, height gages, and hardness testers.Must be able to read and interpret technical product drawings.Perform visual, dimensional, 1st piece and final inspection of detailed parts and assemblies.Accurate records of inspections performed, and creation of discrepancy reports is required.Should be familiar with corrective action systems, nonconforming material control systems and configuration management practices in an AS9100/ISO9000 environment.Experience in a production team environment.Proficient with Microsoft office suite software.Basic background in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement.Must be able to manage their time to accomplish assigned tasks.Attention to detail is required.Ability to lift 20 lbsPreferred Skills:Electronics Inspection Experience (Component Inspection, PCB Assembly, Electromechanical Assembly, and IPC & J-STD Specification Knowledge)IPC-A-620 Inspection CertificationJ-STD-001 Space Addendum Inspection CertificationEnsign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company
