UF Health Central Florida provides inpatient acute hospital services at UF Health Leesburg Hospital and UF Health Spanish Plaines Hospital, inpatient rehabilitation services at UF Health Rehab Hospital The Villages and diagnostic laboratory services at several locations. We take pride in providing progressive, innovative technology, along with building strong relationships with patients, families, physicians and residents of the communities we serve.Responsibilities:Under the Leadership of the Administrative Director of Ambulatory Services, the Wound Care Resource Specialist is responsible for educating staff regarding risk assessment, pressure ulcer prevention, and appropriate wound care. The Wound Care Nurse assists with recommending treatment plans for patients, complex wounds, and/or orders for wound care consults. The Wound Care Nurse acts as a resource to the staff and provides up-to-date information on wound care policies and procedures (Works as a resource nurse as needed to patients with ostomies). The Wound Care Nurse is able to interact on a professional basis with all team members and is able to understand and react effectively to the unique needs of patients in reference to specific age groups. The Wound Care Nurse demonstrates knowledge and support of the unit specific standards of care. The Wound Care Nurse demonstrates competency to plan, initiate and evaluate care for patients in accordance with discipline specific standards as defined by the Florida Department of Health, Board of Nursing. The Wound Care Nurse provides education and assistance to UF Health team members and acts in compliance with the Ethical Conduct of the organization at all times.Qualifications:EducationBachelors Degree - PreferredDiploma/Associates Degree - RequiredLicensure/Certification/RegistrationLicensure Please Specify: Florida Registered Nurse LicenseBLSOther Please Specify: Certified Wound Specialist and/or trained Certified Wound/Ostomy Care Nurse and/or WOCN preferred.Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience RequiredMust be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

Leadership Skills. Should attend hospital training programs including: New Manager/Supervisor orientation and Leadership Development courses.
