DescriptionApplies agricultural chemicals and fertilizer by performing the following duties.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Reads and understands label information from manufacturers and distributors of pesticides, fertilizers, and other products containing hazardous chemicals.Evaluate label information to determine that directions for use are followed during application.Applies products in a timely, effective, and accurate manner.Follows guidelines for recording information on weather conditions, the product used, field conditions, and rates.Maintains equipment to ensure safe and accurate application. Performs or ensures routine maintenance is performed.Prepares, organizes, and maintains records to document activities.During non-application seasons, performs maintenance on the warehouse, location grounds, and equipment.Commercial Chemical Applicators License (1A,1B,1C) is required.Maintain a valid Class C Commercial Drivers License with proper endorsements and commercial insurability at all times. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.Math Ability:Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area circumference, and volume.Reasoning Ability:Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.Computer Skills:Able to use computer equipment related to inventory, work orders, billing, blending, and application equipment.Certificates and Licenses:Chemical Applicators License (1A,1B,1C) is required.
