An SAP Basis Administrator is a crucial role responsible for managing the technical infrastructure of SAP applications. This includes the installation, configuration, and maintenance of the SAP systems, ensuring optimal performance and security. The administrator works closely with database, network, and other IT teams to resolve system issues, perform upgrades, and maintain system documentation. They are also in charge of managing user access and authorizations, adhering to company policies, and executing backups and recovery procedures. The role demands a blend of technical skills, including knowledge of databases and operating systems, and soft skills such as effective communication and problem-solving abilities.

On a day to day this person will be repsonsible for:

1. Manage technical architecture analysis, design, build, test and deploy for SAP systems

2. Advise on technical approach for all systems integrating to SAP and manage 3rd party dependencies related to the SAP environment

3. System landscape design and management experience in operations and project scenarios

4. Plan and manage SAP systems maintenance schedule

5. Involved in planning and testing of the DR

6. Deep understanding of SAP best practices on Backup and Recovery

7. Troubleshooting and root cause analysis

8. Implementation, upgrade and support of the latest SAP systems versions, running on Windows/Linux OS and HANA/Sybase/Oracle/SQL Server DBs.

9. Hands-On experience as a BASIS administrator

10. Provide leadership for troubleshooting and system performance initiatives

11. Good knowledge of AWS/Azure and GCP

12. Communicate project status, issues, and risks timely to all stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and managers.

13. Help manage Change Control, Issues, and Risks to ensure timely implementation of projects, including carrying out risk assessments, identifying project roadblocks, and driving mitigations/solutions

14. Work with technical and non-technical teams, including Customer Support, Professional Services, Product Management, Engineering, and QA teams for efficient and effective resolution of project issues and escalations

15. Contribute to the development and maintenance of standards, processes, and best practices

16. Strong writing, mentoring, decision making, and communication skills

17. Strong leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills; the ability to work well with people from different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience; competence in clear concise, and tactful communication with senior executive management, clients, peers, and team members

18. Provide oversight and leadership to the team. Coach to clarify assignments and deliverables to the team; review the quality of work and manage the integration of team members' work.

19. Ability to work effectively across multiple organizations utilizing strong influencing skills coupled with technical expertise for multiple capabilities. This includes strong problem solving, cross-functional leadership, and conflict resolution
