If that sounds appealing, we think you would feel inspired on our team to achieve and be rewarded for extraordinary results.Selective is seeking an Assistant Vice President of Application Delivery who will be responsible for Selectives Personal Lines, Billing, and Flood application portfolios and will lead the teams that support these systems. The AVP will coordinate and supervise all activities related to the design, development and implementation of custom built software applications, 3rd party vendor platforms, and the integration of internal and external systems. As a member of the Information Technology leadership team, the AVP will collaborate with business and IT leadership to ensure successful achievement of business strategies while ensuring alignment with best practices and the enterprise technical strategy. The successful candidate will lead initiatives that are complex in nature and of high strategic importance and may have a large number of direct reports consisting of Senior Application Managers, Application Managers, application architects, and software engineers. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the strategic direction of Application Delivery within a growing company while being given opportunities to develop yourself and others.**Responsibilities:**- Lead daily activities and career development of IT staff. Set direction, priorities and expectations for the team. Provide necessary coaching and mentoring. Write performance evaluations and review with team members.- Oversees the delivery of critical strategic projects partnering with business and IT leaders to analyze requirements and design solutions. Manage and collaborate with IT team to design, build and implement solutions that achieve successful business outcomes.- Assists the Senior Vice President of Enterprise Delivery Services in collaboration with Application Delivery leadership team in defining and managing technical strategies, priorities, and development/operational standards.- Oversee operating and project financials with accountability for budgeting, forecasting, and variance reporting.- Manage vendor relationships including contract negotiation and construction- Will participate in the evaluation, acquisition, and implementation of vendor software to support business processes.- Participate in the development and implementation of processes that improve efficiency and enhance productivity.**Qualifications:**- 10+ years in application delivery with a proven ability to plan and execute large and complex projects- 3+ years managing teams, manager, and having direct interaction with business leaders- Demonstrated strong relationship management skills with proven ability to develop creative and collaborative solutions.- Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers and suppliers- Strong presentation skills with demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of management through clear, informed and logical discussions/presentations.- Demonstrates strong project management leadership skills including, critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines- Experience having evaluated, recommended and implemented vendor solutions that align to business strategies- College degree preferred in Computer Science, Business, or related field.*Selective is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
