GDIT is currently seeking a Network Senior Subject Matter Expert in Fort Huachuca, AZ. The Network Senior Subject Matter Expert is responsible for supporting several Army networks.

Essential Job Duties

Responsible for:

Configuring and optimizing network hubs, routers, and switches (e.g., higher-level protocols, tunneling).

Developing and implementing network backup and recovery procedures.

Diagnosing network connectivity problems.

Installation and maintenance of network infrastructure device operating system software (e.g., IOS, firmware).

Installation or replacement of network hubs, routers, and switches.

Network capacity and performance monitoring.

Patching network vulnerabilities to ensure that information is safeguarded against outside parties.

Testing and maintaining network infrastructure, including software and hardware devices.

Providing expert support, analysis, research, and advice into exceptionally complex networking problems and processes.

Serving as technical expert on executive-level programs, providing technical direction, interpretation, and alternatives.

Overseeing the design, implementation, and ongoing management of network architectures to support global operations, ensuring scalability and high availability.

Developing and enforcing network policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry and DoD standards and regulatory requirements.

Planning and execution of network upgrades, migrations, and expansion projects, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors to minimize disruption and ensure successful implementation.

Leading incident response and resolution reports for network-related incidents, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.

Designing, implementing, and administering UNIX, Windows, Cisco, and Juniper technologies.

Conducting research and maintaining awareness of emerging networking technologies and techniques. Maintaining technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, switchers, firewalls, load balancers, etc.

Developing strong relationships with team members, managers, and government counterparts.

Mentoring, coaching, and auditing of the activities of junior personnel.

Performing routine network monitoring, analysis, and reporting.

Exercising multi-tasking skills by managing multiple systems, applications, and priorities.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Required Skills, Certifications and Education

:

MA/MS +10 -OR- BA/BS in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science +12 years of experience managing organizations similar in size, scope, and complexity.

Security Clearance Level

: Active SECRET clearance

Must meet DoD 8140 DCWF 441 requirements (B.S., CCNA, GCIA, GCLD, GDSA, GFACT, CASP+, CCNP Security, CCSP, GCED, or GCIH)

The following certifications:

Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)

Juniper Networks Certified Internet Specialist or Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate

An IAT II certification (CCNA-Security, CND, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, or SSCP) is required

Must be willing to work overtime, after hours, holidays, and weekends, as necessary. This position may require periods of non-traditional working hours, to include consecutive nights and/or weekends

Preferred Skills:

First-hand knowledge of the mission and operational requirements of the U.S. Army.

A demonstrated understanding of U.S. Army IT operational and technical requirements, and an advanced understanding of U.S. Army IT applications and network systems.

One or more of the following certifications:

CCNA: CISCO Certified Network Associate

GCIA: GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst

GCLD: GIAC Cloud Security Essentials

GDSA: GIAC Defensible Security Architect

GFACT: GIAC Foundational Cybersecurity Technologies

CASP+: CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner plus

CCNP Security: CISCO Certified Network Professional

CCSP: Certified Cloud Security Professional

GCED: GIAC Certified Enterprise Defender

GCIH: GIAC Certifed Incident Handler

ITIL v3 Foundations (or higher) certification, or able to achieve this certification w/in 90 days of contract start or hire date

The likely salary range for this position is $138,859 - $187,867. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
