SMX is seeking a Network Administrator to provide operation and maintenance support systems and/or networks to include system administration, troubleshooting and repair of existing systems and/or networks at the SMX Elevate Lab in Fayetteville, NC. The Network Administrator will join our dynamic team to provide 24/7 support, ensuring network connectivity, full-motion video feeds, and general IT ownership.

This position requires a DoD TS/SCI security clearance which requires US citizenship for work on DoD contracts.

Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesAdministrate network hardware including routers, switches, hubs, gateways, access points, network interface cards, networking cables, firewalls, and other related hardwareMonitor and respond to hardware and software problems utilizing a variety of hardware and software testing tools and techniquesConfigure and install network hardware and softwareSupport end users with technical support and trainingMaintain the security of the networkProvide troubleshooting and resolution for network infrastructure and componentsGauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; develop and implement strategies for improving or further leveraging these systemsRequired Skills & Experience

Strong understanding of fiber- and copper-based Ethernet technologies, capabilities, and cabling, as well as local and wide-area network connectivity is requiredExperience with Cisco configuration of OSPF and static routing, mGRE Tunnel, QOS, DHCP, ACLs, IPSec (as implemented with HAIPE devices)Experience in DoD or other Government Unclassified and Classified Systems/Networks, Cisco Routing and Switching, Network Engineering, Network Testing, and Implementation planningExperience implementing, modernizing, and transitioning C5ISR communications technologiesStrong understanding of the use and configuration of encryption devices (KG-175D, KG-175F, KG-175GM)High School Diploma/GED with 8 years of related experience, or Associate Degree with 6 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree with 4 years of experience, or Master's Degree with 2 years of experienceRequired certifications:

CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent Computing Environment (CE) certificationDoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II Computing Environment (CE) CertificationActive Cisco CCNA certification or equivalent level of vendor certifications

Position may require lifting of objects up to 50lbsAbility to work shifts to cover 24/7 operations (weekends, holidays, etc.)Desired Certifications
