Responsibilities Registered Nurse (RN) - Temporary 15-Week Assignment Cumberland Hospital for Children and Adolescents , located in New Kent, Virginia, provides comprehensive medical, behavioral, rehabilitative, and educational services for children and adolescents ages 2 through 22 who are challenged by co-occurring medical and behavioral diagnoses. Cumberland Hospital is one of the few specialty children's hospitals providing dual treatment protocols for both medical and mental health issues. Cumberland includes a 62-bed Hospital Program, a 16-bed Inpatient Acute Program, and 30-bed Residential Treatment Program. Our goal is to stabilize medical problems and help children develop positive behavioral coping strategies using an interdisciplinary approach. Temp RN Program Details: Program Eligibility: Cannot have worked at Cumberland Hospital in previous 6 months Pay Rate: $70.00 per Hour Benefits: Ineligible PTO: Ineligible Orientation: Must be able to attend 2-week orientation, Monday thru Friday, approximately 8:00am - 4:30pm each day Temporary Opportunities: Full Time, Part Time, or PRN Permanent positions are also available!! Diverse programming to expand your experience and energize your career HealthStream online learning catalogue with plenty of free CEU courses Competitive Compensation Top-Notch Employee Assistance Program (EAP) SoFi Student Loan Refinancing Program Meals provided PRN positions do not qualify for sign-on bonus or benefits Qualifications Essential Job Duties: Provide direct patient care as prescribed by the physician and treatment team Provide medical management and assessment of patients Ensure environmental safety and crisis management for the patient population Direct the implementation of behavior management programs and ensure consistent carry-through Make patient and task assignments to subordinates and monitor their performance of duties Document patient care, ensure that data is accurate, and that it is included in the master treatment plan via timely nursing care plan updates Work with the treatment team to provide a consistently therapeutic milieu Minimum Requirements: Must be at least 21 years of age Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing; BSN Preferred Hold an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of VA, or Compact State License Prefer one year of inpatient medical surgery, rehab, or psychiatric experience Must be able to sustain physical activity and be able to remain on feet throughout the scheduled shift Prefer experience working with children and adolescents in healthcare setting Good verbal and written skills, ability to rotate shifts and programs as necessary, and ability to maintain confidentiality of resident information Must consistently exhibit mental and emotional ability to understand and perform the essential functions of the job Pay is Hourly (bi-weekly) and is commensurate with education and experience.Cumberland Hospital is a drug-free and alcohol-free workplace.
