**Driver and Food Operations Assistant*** New York, NY* Full-Time* Food Team* Driver and Food Operations AssistantWest Side Campaign Against Hunger (WSCAH)established in 1979 and one of the largest and most successful food pantries in New York Cityprovides emergency food assistance and supportive services, including access to benefits like Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), to low-income New York families. West Side Campaign Against Hungers mission is to alleviate hunger by ensuring all New Yorkers have access with dignity to a choice of healthy food and supportive services. WSCAHs 86th Street and Mobile Markets provides more than 4 million pounds of healthy, fresh food to more than 77,000 food insecure New Yorkers annually.West Side Campaign Against Hunger is seeking a full-time staff member to support the day-to-day operations and vehicle responsibilities of the Food team. Duties include but are not limited to vehicle operation and maintenance, food inventory, receiving deliveries, stocking shelves, loading, and unloading the trucks and program support. S/he will be open to a flexible schedule, delivering food from our main location on the Upper West Side of Manhattan to our community-based partners located in the Bronx, Northern Manhattan, Central Harlem, and our warehouse in Hunts Point, Bronx. S/he will work in close coordination with the Food Team to ensure the quality and effectiveness of the program.**Reports to:** Director of Food Operations**Status:** Full-time**Hours:** Monday - Friday, approximately 7am to 3pm (hours may vary slightly). **Compensation and Benefits**: The hourly rate for this position is $20 per hour. WSCAH offers a comprehensive benefits package, including company-paid medical, dental, and life insurance, 403b retirement plan with 6% match after one year of employment, as well as paid holidays and vacation leave.**Major Areas of Responsibility*** Operate WSCAH Mobile Market vehicle (33 ft truck) and up to a 28-foot box truck safely and in compliance with motor vehicle laws. Drive with confidence and have knowledge of (or willingness to learn) different routes throughout the Bronx and upper Manhattan.* Maintain a clean driving record* Operates hand trucks, pallet jacks and forklift.* Deliver pallets of food to partner site or set location* Receive and organize inventory of all food deliveries* Organize stock rotation, first in first out by date* Ensure customer satisfaction by providing food distribution in a respectful and dignified manner* Maintain the sanitation and cleanliness of trucks, pantry, food storage area within, and any equipment in accordance with New York City and State health codes* Establish and maintain positive relationships with co-workers and others; willingly assist co-workers when necessary; a strong team player* Maintain a professional demeanor to best represent WSCAH* Support food rescue efforts for all WSCAH locations* Prepare food distribution for opening and closing, includes lifting of heavy boxes, and cleaning* Work and run food distribution at WSCAHs 86th street location as needed.* Set up volunteer stations daily according to the work plan and recipes.* Monitor inventory of food supply* Support food rescue efforts* Monitor function of equipment and alert supervisor to any problems**Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities*** Valid and clean driver's license.
