Description
The Laborer is responsible to assist craft workers with various physical tasks at commercial or industrial construction job sites. This position operates a variety of hand and power tools and prepares and cleans task areas or work sites.
Responsibilities:Load, unload, or identify building materials, machinery, or tools, distributing and returning them to the appropriate locations; install or remove signage, railings, or other various hardware.Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, or compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, or rakes.Operate hand or power tools such as air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment or other as required.If certified, operate heavy equipment such as backhoe, bobcat.Assist in erecting or dismantling scaffolding, shoring, braces, traffic barricades, ramps, or other temporary structures.Clean or prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.Requirements:
6 months experience working as a commercial or industrial construction laborerExperience operating required hand and power toolsStrong reading, written and verbal communication skills in English, verbal communication in Spanish considered an asset but not requiredHigh School Diploma, GED or equivalent required

Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting and field environment; to walk, stand, and sit for prolonged periods of time; to frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp, and make repetitive hand movement in the performance of daily duties; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull moderate amounts of weight up to 50 lbs without assistance and greater than 50lbs with assistance; to operate assigned equipment and vehicles; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
