Chief Clinical and Translational Officer

overseeing the SDRI Research Portfolio and developing strategies and partnerships to continue to drive innovation across the enterprise.SDRI is a non-profit organization and center of excellence with a mission to improve the lives of people impacted by diabetes through research, education, and clinical care. We are a preferred site for industry sponsored clinical trials, a testament to our exceptional research capabilities. On average, SDRI conducts 25+ trials per year, engaging approximately 1,000 participants. Current industry partners include Abbott, Dexcom, Insulet, Eli Lilly, Mannkind, Medtronic Diabetes, Novo Nordisk, Sanofi, Tandem Diabetes Care, and more.Diversity and inclusivity are prioritized in our clinical trials---in 2023, 30% of our research participants were from underrepresented populations.We are currently renovating our 18,000 square foot research facility to create a state-of-the-art center where we will accelerate life-changing diabetes research.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESManage Team of Physician Investigators Responsible for 25+ Industry Sponsored Trials Per Year (Adult and Pediatric Trials)Design, Fund, and Execute Investigator Initiated TrialsDevelop Strategies and Partnerships to Drive Innovation Across the EnterpriseOpportunity to Maintain a Clinical Practice through our Clinics or through Service at the Community Clinics or our neighboring Hospital (Women’s Health, Pregnancy, Pediatrics, Adult Endocrinology) One Day per WeekStandard Office Hours, No Call ServiceREQUIREMENTSMD or DO with Directly Related Experience in Endocrinology, Mix of Academic and Industry Experience Preferred15+ years of Experience, with at least 5 – 7 Years of Management ExperienceBoard Certified or Board Eligible in EndocrinologyDEA CertificateEligible to Work in the United StatesMust Be In or Relocate to Santa Barbara, CACA Licensure or the Ability to Obtain CA LicensureInterest in Research, Experience with ResearchExperience Performing Typical Endocrinology ProceduresExceptional Communication and Interpersonal SkillsLANGUAGE SKILLSThe ability to read, write, and speak English clearly is required. The ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, SOPs, and procedures and an understanding of and ability to communicate in scientific language is critical. Spanish proficiency or fluency is highly desired.COMPENSATION$450,000 - $550,000 Annually NOTE: The listed range is solely a base compensation for experienced full-time physician researchers. It does not include incentives and benefits.
