Washington DC NWMUST:Experienced Cardiovascular TechnologistAssociate's degreeEKG/hemodynamic monitoringMinimum of six months as a cardiovascular technologist, or similar job experienceBachelor's degree preferredAdditional exposure preferredRCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) or RCVT - Registered Cardiovascular TechPRT - Practical Radiology Technician Registered Radiology Tech (RT)BLS (Basic Life Support)Health Services / ACLSDUTIES:Performs assorted patient care responsibilities for adults such as starting IV's, EKG monitoring, cardiac outputs, and prepping and draping patientsAssists with cardiovascular invasive procedures such as R & L heart catheterizations, PTCA, intra-aortic-balloon pump, permanent/temporary pacemakers, AICD, electrophysiology studies, pericardiocentesis, peripheral arteriograms and angioplastyPerforms quality control functions of the X-ray console/equipment before proceduresRuns tapes, Digital Subtraction Acquisition, and image processingAssists physician during the procedureRemoves/pulls arterial and venous sheaths from patient after procedure and applies appropriate manual pressureRecords and interprets hemodynamic data using Sensis's monitoring system. Prepares all the equipment, sets up the field for all cases and cleans room for the next procedureParticipates in the orientation, training and in-services for cardiovascular technologists and other staff in the departmentAssists with the inventory, ordering and stocking of supplies and equipment for the Cath LabQuadrant is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer.
