Apply at Keck Medicine of USC, Los Angeles, California.As an integral part of the interdisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process to provide therapeutic care to patients and their families in the outpatient setting. Responsibilities include escorting patients to exam rooms, obtaining and recording patient vital signs and medication lists, monitoring patient flow, assisting physicians with minor clinical procedures, performing EKGs, preparing patient charts, administering medications as directed, scheduling diagnostic tests, and performing various administrative duties. Ensures patient privacy, safety, and confidentiality is maintained while complying with infection control policies and maintaining a safe environment.Essential Duties:Follows policies and procedures; demonstrates ability to access online manuals and references.Transfers learned scientific knowledge into practical application in applying the nursing process.Completes nursing assessment and screening upon patient arrival at each appointment.Interprets assessment information and formulates nursing diagnosis.Maintains problem list, medication list, and allergies list.Administers medications as ordered and completes re-assessments as indicated.Documentation is complete and correct on all encounters; ensures medication list is current and complete.Provides patient and family education as needed based on diagnosis or treatment plan.Communicates effectively with all members of the healthcare team including the patient and family.Manages time effectively and organizes responsibilities efficiently.Observes regulatory agency requirements and maintains a safe work environment.Identifies and participates in data collection and process improvements.Participates in professional hospital/nursing activities and educational workshops.Accepts and completes additional duties as assigned.Bonus Points: Professional certification.Performs other related duties as assigned.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required (grandfathered from BSN if hired prior to 12/2019).1 year RN experience required (preferably in allergy/immunology).Excellent communication skills, including proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English.Knowledge of medical procedures and ability to perform duties in accordance with policies and regulations.Required Licenses/Certifications:Registered Nurse - RN (CA Board of Registered Nursing).Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association.Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) required within 30 days of hire if no card upon hire.The hourly rate range for this position is $46.00 - $76.07.
