About the role:Reporting to the Head of Digital DevOps, the Principal Mobile DevOps Engineer will play a critical role in driving innovation and growth for the Banking Solutions business. In a technology leadership role within the Digital Technology organization, you will be responsible for transforming our platforms and driving the development and implementation of next-generation digital products. With a focus on digital software pipelines and deployments, you will collaborate closely with product leaders and other stakeholders to align product milestones and deliver innovative digital applications and experiences.

What you will be doing:Design and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) solutions for mobile app deployment, monitoring, and performance optimization across multiple platforms (iOS and Android).Collaborate with development teams to integrate DevOps tools, processes, and best practices into the mobile app development lifecycle, from code commits to production deployments.Define and enforce mobile app security practices, including code scanning, vulnerability assessments, and secure configurations for mobile platforms and cloud services.Implement and manage cloud-based solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, Private Cloud) for mobile app hosting, data storage, and backend services, ensuring scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.Lead the adoption of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) for mobile app environments, enabling consistent deployment and orchestration across development, testing, and production stages.Establish and monitor key performance metrics, logs, and analytics for mobile apps, providing insights for continuous improvement in app quality, user experience, and resource utilization.Collaborate with QA teams to automate mobile app testing processes, including unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests, within CI/CD pipelines for faster feedback and quality assurance.Lead incident response and troubleshooting efforts for mobile app-related issues in production, working closely with development teams to implement timely and effective resolutions.Mentor and coach junior DevOps engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and collaboration within the DevOps practice.Stay updated with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in mobile app DevOps, and evaluate their applicability to improve development processes and infrastructure.Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including development teams, product managers, and IT operations, to align DevOps initiatives with business goals, timelines, and priorities.

What you will need:Strong experience in implementing DevOps practices, automation, and infrastructure management specifically for mobile app development environments.Proficiency in CI/CD pipeline setup and maintenance using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps, with a focus on mobile app build, test, and deployment automation.Knowledge of mobile app development frameworks (e.g., React Native, Ionic, native iOS/Android) and experience in integrating DevOps tools and processes into these environments.Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Private Cloud, including services related to app hosting, data storage, serverless computing, and monitoring.Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes for managing mobile app deployments at scale.Understanding of mobile app security best practices, encryption standards, and secure coding guidelines for iOS and Android platforms.Experience in implementing security scans, vulnerability assessments, and compliance checks within CI/CD pipelines for mobile apps.Knowledge of mobile app authentication mechanisms, API security, and data protection requirements in accordance with industry standards (e.g., OWASP Mobile Top 10, GDPR, HIPAA).Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation tasks related to infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployment workflows.Experience with mobile app testing automation frameworks/tools (e.g., Appium, XCTest, Espresso) and integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.Ability to set up and manage monitoring, logging, and analytics solutions for mobile apps, utilizing tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or native cloud monitoring services.Proven track record of leading DevOps initiatives, managing infrastructure projects, and driving continuous improvement in development processes and tools.Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including developers, QA engineers, product managers, and IT operations.Experience in mentoring and coaching junior DevOps engineers, conducting knowledge sharing sessions, and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation within the DevOps team.Continuous learning mindset, staying updated with industry trends, attending conferences, and participating in relevant training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
