Purpose:Reporting to the Executive Director, our Marketing director will direct, plan and coordinate the annual marketing and fundraising strategies to provide a year-round visible presence to the community and external stakeholders in an effort to create broad support for and awareness of the organization.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy to provide a visible year-round presence creating broad support for the organization. Include research, strategies, goals with metrics, and a calendar detailing marketing materials, activities, social media posts, events and presentations.

Develop compelling marketing materials that effectively show the impact of MSAUW. Draft monthly eUpdates on United Way’s work, as well as other direct mail and electronic communications year-round. Develop client success stories, highlighting community volunteers, and leading the volunteer website. Develop videos, blogs, and newsletter stories.

Direct the development, assembly and delivery of necessary annual campaign materials, including pledge cards, brochures, posters, flyers, targeted messaging via direct mailings, and handouts to support the campaign and year-round United Way programs.

Lead development of annual video concept, writing of script, and coordination of actors. Direct graphic design of collateral materials.

Manage photography for events, special shoots, photo ops, etc.

Collaborate across departments to produce and post compelling and current content for the organization’s website and ensure that the site makes it easy for visitors to give, advocate or volunteer in support of MSA United Way’s community impact goals.

Develop and implement creative, strategic, and tactical online marketing plans for promoting a variety of different MSA United Way initiatives and events, mobilizing North Dakotans to take action, and growing the number of online donors and email update subscribers. Manage the use of the organization’s Google Ad Words grant to maximize traffic to the organization’s website and convert visitors to donors, volunteers and advocates. Lead efforts on Facebook, Instagram, X, Snapchat, YouTube and other outlets. Keep current on social media trends/innovations and makes recommendations on new features, applications, and strategies.

Track effective benchmarks for measuring impact of online and social media efforts and produce monthly metrics reports (Google Analytics/Web Trends) to help inform online strategies.

Work closely with leadership to develop a coordinated marketing and fundraising plan to drive revenue and build trust through the enhancement of donor relations and engagement opportunities. This includes the development and implementation of key engagement opportunities, calling on key accounts, a recognition plan, and targeting of different sectors within the community. Recruit new donors, new employee campaigns and volunteers.

Review materials available from United Way of Worldwide for appropriateness for local use.

Supervise staff as assigned.

Attend networking events.

Live and represent the United Way mission, vision and values.

Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Minimum Requirements:A minimum of 5 years of marketing or communications experience. Bachelor's Degree in business administration, non-profit management, or a related field. Experience in sales, marketing, public relations or fundraising preferred.

$65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
