Were looking for people who think big, act fearlessly, and create an inclusive environment that drives positive impact to join our team.What you'll do:Viasat is seeking a new Operations Director of Test Asset Management to play a pivotal role in coordinating and optimizing the performance of Viasat's test assets, ensuring operational excellence, and driving continuous improvement. This position is integral in optimizing test asset utilization, orchestrating efficient operations of test assets, and providing ground-breaking leadership to achieve strategic key objectives. Key responsibilities include devising and implementing strategies to enhance test asset utilization, refining test asset operational processes, leading an impactful team, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement to maintain and advance operational excellence within the company's fleet of test assets.The day-to-day:The Director, Test Asset Management will:Manage test assets that are deployed globallyProvide strategic direction and execution on utilization, deployment tracking management, and optimized financial performance through best test practices.Create and implement strategic objectives for right-sizing and balancing the fleet of test assets across the deployment network that includes labs, factories, 3PLs and other such facilities.Identify best standards and adopt them as standard processes that allow for continual monitoring of test asset health, total cost of ownership analysis, and replacement planning to maintain the install base of test assets.Work alignment with VPs on the allocation of deployed test assets to meet the mission of the business.Engage in strategic test asset planning and objectives and key results with leadership and operations groups to enable test capacity growth while optimizing financial performance.Develop strategies to drive cost-savings across operating groups and test asset optimization across the fleet program.Support OpEx and CapEx budget and cost activities for the test asset portfolio.Create and actively manage performance metrics and KPIs to proactively measure and report on critical areas including test asset utilization (TEEP), cost drivers, cycle time, and productivity.Ensure fleet compliance in areas such as Quality Management (AS9100), Configuration Management (ANSI/EIA 649), Accounting Management (GAAP), Cybersecurity Management (CMMC) and other compliance items.Work cross functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, and other such organizations to reduce cycle time management with test asset deployments, enhancements, maintenance, repair, and other cycle time management items.Support of procurement activities such as test asset ordering with collaboration of internal teams and external partners such as OEMs and ODMs.Evaluate existing test asset management policies, activities, protocols, and procedures and make enhancement recommendations that drive continuous improvement across the fleet of test assets.Drive efficiency and quality throughout test asset operations to deliver a best-in-class end user service experience.Enable and drive vendor network strategy to manage best in class services for test asset upgrades, maintenance, repair, compliance, and other service items.Develop and monitor vendor SLAs to achieve performance SLOs for the fleet of test assets.What you'll need:
10+ years servicing sophisticated electronic systems, equipment planning, and capital expenditures for test assets5+ years of experience leading and managing a technical organization supporting test assets in lab and production environments of high mix, low volume SATCOM products.Recognized work experience managing corporate test assets with the ability to analyze equipment fleets for optimization, utilization, and recommended enhancementsDemonstrated skills for streamlining processes and establishing standard methodologies to reduce total cost of asset ownershipDemonstrated ability with organizational leadership in driving improvements by organizational change, fostering team development, and establishing a supportive, transparent, and engaging environment that is accountable for achieving resultsProven skills for inspiring and partnering with senior leadership and cross functional teams to develop and implement long-term strategic plans that align with company vision and goalsAbility to structure and prioritize work to achieve both strategic and tactical objectives in an environment characterized by strict schedules and competing prioritiesA history of success by being innovative and creative when driving operational efficiencies in terms of resource utilization and growth strategyA track record of outsourcing maintenance and repair services for test assets by creating SOWs, selecting partners, and monitoring service critical metricsMust be self-motivated, results oriented, integrity driven with a high degree of accountability, and dedication to high standards of excellenceBachelors or Masters technical degreeUS Citizenship requiredAbility to travel up to 15%What will help you on the job:
Knowledgeable about quality, configuration management, accounting standards such as AS9100, ANSI/EIA 649, GAAPFamiliar with TEEP concepts and tracking implementation strategiesProject management experience with an eye for identifying and implementing large scale process improvement initiatives using data driven techniquesStrong analytical skill and reporting ability using Excel, PowerBI, Tableau, and other similar visualization dashboard platforms
Salary range:$208,400.00 - $375,600.00 / annually
