Job Summary:

The intent of this job description is to provide a summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed in this job. Incumbents may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.

The Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) will have the ability to collaborate with Temecula Valley OB/GYN's providers and/or medical staff in the evaluations, diagnosis, management, and coordination of care of obstetrical and gynecological patients. The CNM will provide care for patients in both a clinical inpatient and outpatient setting.

Essential Job Duties:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.?Providing prenatal and postpartum care for pregnant women.Tend to patients during labor and delivery.Performing routine gynecological care; to include annual well women exams, birth control consultations, IUD insertions, pessary maintenance, etc.,Provide education to patients.Maintain patient medical records, and/or testing and diagnosing various medical conditions.

Required education and experience:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.

Minimum Education (or substitute experience) required:Unrestricted Nurse Midwife license issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing.Certification as Nurse Midwife by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB).Successful completion of a midwifery education program accredited by the ACN.California DEA.NRP Certification.15 deliveries within the last 12 months in an accredited hospital, or hospital-based ambulatory setting or birth center.

Minimum Experience Required:3 years minimum experience practicing as a Certified Nurse Midwife.

Minimum Knowledge and Skills Required:Strong written and verbal communication skills.Strong interpersonal skills.Experience with EMR systems(s) (Epic, Athena).Adherence to timely completion of patient records & billing by best practice standards.Fast decision-making, especially in emergent situations.Ability to treat effectively in collaboration with supervising physician(s).

Expected Hours of Work -Full-time CNM 4 full days a week.Six 24-hour calls per month.

Schedule: 8-9.5-hour shift.?
