to support the Security Division at the Marine Corps Combat Development and Integration Command, Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia.

General Description:

Responsible for implementing the industrial security regulations, guidance, and protocols in support of the Security Division's mission supporting variety of collateral and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) services to include access control and escort support services. The position requires a self-motivated candidate who is capable of working with minimal direction, independently, and with a team of security specialists. The candidate will be required to conduct security self-inspections, apply risk mitigation methodologies, support customer assessments, implement security measures to meet requirements, and facilitate opening/closing of the command's facility. The Security Support Specialist must possess the confidence to make critical security decisions, implement security procedures that will prevent unauthorized access and proper safeguarding of classified and sensitive information at the government facility.

Specific Duties:

Provide professional security assistance services to support the Deputy Commandant for Combat Development & Integration (DC CD&I) located at the General Raymond G. Davis Center located within Marine Corps Base Quantico, to include cleared access control and escort personnel support services.

Experience utilizing the Defense Information System for Security (DISS) processing Visit Access RequestsConduct clearance verifications via DISS and Scattered CastlesIssue of visitor badges and perform Visitor Log maintenanceValidate Information System Authorization Access Requests (SAAR)Track/maintain IT helpdesk tickets for SCI network AISsSafeguarding and screening hand carried documents/packagesConduct random anti-terrorism measure (RAM) inspectionsAssist opening/closing facility utilizing Intrusion Detection System (IDS)/alarm systems, FF-L-2740 Combination Locks, and turnover with staff duty officersProvide escort support for personnel, ensuring safeguarding and no inadvertent disclosure or breach of securityProvide monthly status reportingProvide services during an 8-hour shift supporting the facility operating hours between 5:30 a.m. through 8:00 p.m., as requiredRequirements:

The successful candidate will interface with all levels of personnel and government management personnel to ensure contract security compliance with National Industrial Security Operating Manual (NISPOM), DoD Manual 5205.07, Contract Security Classification Specification (DD254) and Program Classification Guides.Industrial Security Professional (ISP) Certification, CSSO/CPSO training certificateCOMSEC Custodian certificate or experiencePrior ISSO/ISSM or alternate ISSO/ISSM experienceCourier preparation proceduresKnowledge of Access Control and Intrusion Detection SystemsExperience with SCIF access controlSecurity Professional Certifications/AffiliationsPresent a professional appearancePossess excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills, effectively in EnglishPossess strong situational awareness and keen observation skillsPossess the ability to multitask and work both as a team and independently, while meeting strict deadlinesPossess working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and Internet/web-based applicationsFormer experience working/supporting a higher headquarters military command is a plusPrior military experience is a plusCandidates are subject to random Counterintelligence Scope Polygraph (CSP) examinations
