The Superintendent performs tasks involving coordinating all construction duties, performing basic trade activities, such as mechanical, plumbing, piping, carpentry, and concrete work, monitoring safety regulations, and performing other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:Oversees and manages the training of recently hired laborersCoordinates personnel and delegates dutiesMaintains an in-depth knowledge of safety policies; ensures that all policies are followedEnsures that the crew follows all company policies and proceduresMaintains records and logs of work performed and materials and equipment usedMeets with and updates clients regularlyCommunicates with project managers and clients to ensure that projects are completed in a timely fashionEnsures that all budget constraints are followedUnderstands pump controls and piping configurationsUnderstands how SCADA systems operatePerforms various inspectionsPerforms various maintenance tasksUnderstands basic electrical safety requirementsUnderstands landfill drawings and layoutsProvides training and guidance to other employees as necessaryUnderstands and uses testing, calibration, and monitoring equipmentUnderstands how to use equipment used on siteInventories and requests equipment and supplies as neededComplies with and enforces company policies and proceduresKnows and can perform all operator duties, laborer duties, and foreman dutiesQualifications:
High school diploma preferredMinimum 3 years supervising construction projects in a related fieldProven track record of as a successful foreman or superintendentEffective leadership and strong collaboration skillsStrong history of customer/client focusAbility to ethical conduct and strong decision-making skillsStrong ability to critically analyze and problem solveProject Management experience preferred within the Construction IndustryStrong time management skills meeting project deadlinesAbility to travel up to 100%Must be able to lift at least 50 poundsPhysical requirements of continuous walking, lifting, and bending on project sites
