Position Summary

As a Plumbing Superintendent for CEC, you will be responsible for scheduling, monitoring, and controlling the day-to-day execution of the work, progress, and performance of a project. Administration and control of all aspects of the site-specific safety and compliance objectives will be key for your role as well.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for all CEC field trades on a mechanical construction project.Conferring with senior management, supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems.Manage mid-sized to large projects of twenty-five or more persons, sometimes may manage more than fifty people on a project.Complete working estimate and take-off jointly with the Project Manager.Lay out work for subordinate supervisors and lead persons as well as being jointly responsible with the Project Manager for having material, tools, equipment, information and appropriate manpower in the proper place in a timely fashion.Determine labor requirements and dispatch workers; manage man-loading chart.Interface with representatives of the General Contractor on day to day project scheduling and overall performance issues.Provide general supervision to subordinate foremen engaged in the installation of mechanical components on a jobsite.Monitor work as performed, direct subordinate supervisors and crews, and schedule work according to the pace of the job and other trades.Ensure all office correspondence, safety, and administrative paperwork is delivered timely and accurately.Responsible for overall project safety performance. Assure employees are properly trained or instructed in performance of duties to which assigned. Assure compliance with all CEC safety processes and protocols. Investigate or assist in investigation and reporting of any accidents or safety incidents involving job site employees.Inspecting and reviewing projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations.Other Duties and Responsibilities

Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective processes, completion of projects and smooth operation of department.Education and Experience

Minimum 6 years' or more of experience running large mechanical projects in commercial/industrial construction.High School Graduate, GED, or equivalent.Required Skill, Knowledge, and Abilities

Must have a current Drivers License and reliable transportation.Must meet attendance standards and comply with late/absence notification procedures.Must be able to pass drug and background check.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Strong believer in Safety.

May work inside or outside. Possible exposure to hot and cold temperatures, in all-weather elements such as rain, heat, cold and snow. This position also requires work at extreme heights, in areas that are under construction, or in restricted areas such as a switchgear room, manhole, utility tunnel, crawl space, or attic, in confined spaces, and on slippery or uneven surfaces; works on ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, in ditches and excavations; works in and around single and multi-story buildings with all exposures typical of a heavy construction site, including portable sanitary facilities.

Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach overhead.Lift 51 pounds, routinely. Constantly move about on the feet.Climb ladders of all types.Complete full day assignments involving overhead work.Must be able to make transition from employee parking area or street into construction work areas and to access all levels of the building, even if the only means of access is by O.S.H.A. approved site construction ladder or stairs still under construction, but acceptable for use.Must be capable of securing tools and materials from storage areas to complete assigned tasks.Possess good vision, normal or corrected. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision to discern color coded wires, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.Possess good hearing, normal or corrected.Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest) at all times.Must be able to work 8 hours a day, 40 hours per week, and overtime as required and night shifts, as needed. This position requires flexible work hours. In order to get a project completed on time, this position is often required to work overtime, weekends, and night shifts.Must be able to work in the presence of customers and their representatives with little or no interference or disruption to the customer while maintaining a professional and courteous image.
