One of our best clients, a publicly traded software development company, located in Tysons, VA is seeking a Manager of SEC Reporting. This is a direct, full-time position with compensation in the range of $130,000 to $150,000.
Manager of SEC ReportingCompensation:Salary of $130K to 150K with $23K annual bonus (paid quarterly) plus RSU'S (4 year vesting)Four (4) days in the Tysons officeKeys:Big 4, CPA required with current SEC reporting experience.4-5 years of experience, combo candidates are perfect.
The role:
The position has high visibility to the CFO, CAO/Worldwide Controller, and Senior Management. Responsibilities include the preparation of SEC filings, along with technical accounting research and special projects.
Job focus:Preparation, review, and filing of Forms 10-Q/K, in addition to high involvement in 8-K and Proxy statement filings.Preparation of financial statements and other financial data for press releases, audit committee communications, and supplemental investor information.Keep current with existing and emerging financial accounting and reporting principles,Review, analyze, and document new and complex technical accounting issues as they arise.Support accounting and reporting for share-based compensation, earnings per share, segment reporting, debt and equity transactions, crypto assets, non-GAAP reporting, lease accounting, and ESG, amongst other topics.Proactively work with external auditors and advisors on key accounting and reporting issues.Coordinate and partner with various internal groups (Accounting, HR, Legal, FP&A, Marketing, IT) and external groups (auditors, consultants/advisors) to facilitate SEC filings and technical accounting issues.Demonstrate strong project management skills and accountability to meet deadlines.Ensure compliance with established internal controls for areas of responsibility.Look for opportunities to automate, improve workflows, and implement efficiencies in all areas.Required Experience and Skills
5+ years ofaccounting experience required in Financial Reporting role for public companyPrior Big 4 experience preferred Active CPA license requiredBS Accounting degree requiredMS Office proficiency required - strong Excel skills a mustExperience working with U.S. GAAP and technical accounting research softwareKnowledge of SEC rules and requirementsExperience with XBRL tagging and use of SEC filing software.Strong technical accounting writing and research skills.Ability to both work in a team setting and independently, as needed.Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.Excellent communication skills needed to interface with all levels of the organizationDetail-oriented with analytic comprehensionHigh level of integrity and appropriate handling of confidential information at all times
