Job Summary

Under general supervision from the director and with independent judgment, performs highly technical and complex grants development duties to advance the college's mission and strategic goals. Responsible for assisting faculty and staff with all phases of public grants development including needs assessment, subject matter research, program/project development, and grant writing/proposal development.Essential Duties

Serve as lead grant writer for assigned projects, independently seeking support from Sponsored Programs staff and college stakeholders when necessary. Create timelines, collect data, write and edit proposals, and compile attachments according to funding opportunity guidelines. Direct internal grant writing teams by delegating and following up on tasks to ensure complete and on-time submissions.Manage development of prospective grants. Assess new funding opportunities to determine likely impact and return on investment, seek out subject matter experts, and identify potential project leads. Assist faculty and staff with transforming ideas into full proposals that are competitive and meet the standards specified by funders. Ensure proposed project activities and budgets are consistent with program guidelines, and communicate relevant federal, state, and TCC policies to project directors to inform proposal and budget development.

Manage strategic grant projects for the Sponsored Programs office. Develop a planning calendar that includes clear timelines for the development of new or recurring grant projects of significant size and scope. With support from the Director, initiate discussions with college leadership to ensure new grants are in alignment with TCC funding priorities and strategic plans, adjusting based on feedback and evolving needs. Ensure the calendar, TCC Blue Book, Grants Portfolio, and related Sponsored Programs resources are updated quarterly to reflect current projects.

Assist the Director of Sponsored Programs in office outreach efforts through targeted presentations to faculty and administrators, including providing training in grant development and serving on the Grant Development and Compliance committee.

Participate in professional meetings, webinars, and other development opportunities to stay on top of current grant trends, policies, and best practices.Perform related duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications

Require Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Sociology, Public Administration, or a related field (any program for which writing was a significant component).3 years of related work experience.

Experience in grant writing, research, data analysis, and project management.

Ability to communicate effectively with personnel at all levels.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Sociology, Public Administration, or a related field (any program for which writing was a significant component).Experience in higher education.
