In collaboration with the Medical and Surgical Directors and the Executive Director of Heart and Vascular, related care delivery areas and other appropriate administrative directors, the Director of the Center for Cardiac Transcatheter Therapeutics will oversee the interventional cardiology service line, spanning robust programs in coronary revascularization, structural heart and valvular heart disease. The Director will provide leadership, planning and development of Center related cardiac programs consistent with the mission and vision of the organization; provide clinical expertise and guidance in accordance with federal, local and internal standards, policies and regulations, become involved in building a comprehensive operational strategy for growth and innovation within the Center, and foster an environment and culture of high quality care and collaboration amongst internal team members as well as building relationships with referring providers to grow procedural volumes. The Director will also ensure financial health of the Center and recommend and implement an integrated performance and quality improvement program that will improve effectiveness, enhance efficiency, increase cost effectiveness to ensure high customer satisfaction and optimal patient outcomes.The Director of the Center for Cardiac Transcatheter Therapeutics is a highly visible position within UCSF Health. Reporting to the Executive Director of Heart and Vascular Services, this position assists with the development and implementation of new programs, policies, and patient care service standards, and ensures compliance with regulatory agencies. The Director will collaborate closely with ambulatory care, cardiac surgery, cardiothoracic anesthesia, cardiac intensive care and its related managers, service lines and support staff.The Director will be accountable for the overall administrative planning and coordination of staffing, fiscal, and material resources for the following areas:Heart Valve ProgramComplex coronary revascularizationAdult congenital heart disease interventionsStructural heart disease interventionsInterventional heart failureLeft atrial appendage occlusionAll emerging catheter based cardiovascular transcatheter therapiesThe Director will be responsible for hiring, onboarding and managing a multidisciplinary team. Utilizing Lean methodology, the director will be responsible for assessing workflows to optimize productivity and satisfaction. The Director works with staff on a clearly defined, clearly communicated vision, and engages individuals and groups to achieve that vision. The Director identifies and develops organizational talent and embraces continuous learning of self and others. Additionally, the Director will respond to all patient satisfaction concerns and evaluate means for programmatic improvement. This includes responsibility for the program development, management, and overall day-to-day business operations.The Director collaborates with Medical Director, Surgical Director, and Executive Director for Heart and Vascular Services to advance quality strategies, ensure a positive professional work environment, facilitate timeliness of services, and enhance patient and staff satisfaction. The Director oversees all aspects of the provision of clinical services including the maintenance of safety and technical/clinical performance, human resources, quality, standards of care, practice guidelines, service delivery and patient and customer satisfaction. This position assists with the development and implementation of new programs, policies, and patient care service standards. Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies.The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF.
