As a

Computational Biologist

at NextRNA Therapeutics, you will join an interdisciplinary team of highly creative and talented individuals whose mission is to bring a new class of small molecule medicines to patient in need. You will have a key role in identifying and validating novel long non-coding RNA targets. You will be a key team member responsible for utilizing NextMAPTM, a NextRNA proprietary computation engine that identifies driving disease lncRNAs. You will have an opportunity to work with a diverse team of bioinformaticians, biochemist, chemists, and biologist to support drug discovery programs for next wave of RNA therapeutics.About you:You are a real team player and leader; collaboration is one of your best strengths. You are conscientious, organized, and detailed oriented. You are curious, love learning and are eager to solve hard problems. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy pushing the edge of what is possible. You enjoy wearing several hats and volunteer to take on additional responsibilities for the good of the company and the team. You advocate for best practices/collaboration in code development. What you’ll do:Target Discovery:

Collaborate with drug development teams to integrate bioinformatics analyses into target discovery processes. Provide insights into potential therapeutic targets based on genomics and transcriptomics data, contributing to the overall drug development strategy.NGS Data Analysis:

Lead and contribute to the design and execution of bioinformatics pipelines for the analysis of NGS data, with a specific emphasis on RNA-seq datasets. Implement and optimize workflows for processing large-scale genomics and transcriptomics data.RNA Biology Expertise:

Utilize deep knowledge in RNA biology to interpret complex sequencing data, including differential gene expression, alternative splicing, and non-coding RNA analysis. Contribute to the development of novel approaches for integrative analysis of multi-omics data.Translational Computational Biology:

Bridge the gap between target discovery and clinical applications, translating molecular insights into innovative therapeutic strategies. Effectively communicate translational insights to key stakeholders. The successful applicant will contribute to advancing our understanding of long non-coding RNA biology and facilitating the development of novel therapeutic interventions, ultimately significantly impacting patient care.Key Qualifications:PhD degree in computational biology, bioinformatics, or a related field. + 5 years of industryEarly stage computationally/data driven target discovery experience is required.Demonstrable experience of working with early drug discovery team/programs.Relevant experience in disease areas such as oncology and/or neurology required.Knowledge on RNA biology is required (gene regulation at isoform level).Experience with multi-omics-sequencing data is required.Experience with building and supporting bioinformatics pipelines.Experience with statistical modeling and machine learning.Experience with programming languages (R and python), code pipeline management (Github and Nextflow) and server infrastructure (AWS) is required. This position will be on-site 5 days per week at our Boston, MA location.Come to NextRNA as your true self.
