Material & Equipment ManagerVee-Jay is a concrete contracting company with a passion and understanding of the construction industry and the tools to accomplish the job. This position is responsible for the overall management of the yard for Vee-Jay Cement Contracting.Key Activities:•
Procurement, Warehousing, & Distribution•
Equipment & Tool Management•
Facilities Management•
Inventory OversightResponsibilities:•
Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow. Revises schedule according to work order specifications, established priorities and availability or capability of workers and equipment.• Supervise, mentor and coach yard personnel as it relates to company policies and procedures.• Ensure high level of safety adherence to safety policies and procedures for yard personnel.• Monitor weekly & monthly inventory reports and analysis of usage.• Work closely with Cost team to ensure proper monthly billing for equipment and tools.• Maintains communications with Shop Manager to ensure a maintenance plan for all tools and equipment is in enforced.•Provide oversight of equipment inventory management to reduce theft, loss, and increase equipment utilization.• Researches new tools, equipment, and methods to increase material/equipment inventory control and equipment usage.• Identify and implement new work processes where needed.Direct Reports:• 1 st
and 2 nd
Shift Yard Supervisors• Service Manager (Equipment Repair & Maintenance)• Warehouse Manager
