Overview:
The Army Training Support Center (ATSC) is located at Fort Eustis, Virginia and responsible for managing the Army Training Support Enterprise (TSE) providing oversight for many programs that enable the development, delivery, and sustainment of Training and Education (T&E) support capabilities worldwide. By Light is looking for candidates to provide technical leadership of the Configuration Management (CM) organizational processes and be responsible for the overall program configuration management systems to include quality & data management, technical configuration management and policy, process and audits. The ideal candidate will have recent, comprehensive experience in developing complex technical solutions and leading tool integration efforts for system configuration management with a background in traditional configuration management processes. Traditional Configuration Management (CM) of servers, virtual environments and infrastructure, applications, and associated communications equipment, enabling end-to-end information about configuration items and their interoperable relationships. growth with a leading-edge information technology company.Responsibilities:Provide configuration management analysis on proposed changes of product designs and systemsMaintain configuration management files including configuration identification, change control, and status accounting records of all relevant program artifactsProvide network wiring installation support, installation and configuration of network components, and network interface cards (NICs).Coordinate hardware/software installation and tracking, baseline, and mission software upgrades, maintain and manage mission network servers, and communication modules.Ensure all production and engineering development drawings and documents are properly logged into the data repositories prior to product delivery.Responsible for all CM activities across the program including software, hardware, system/node configurations as well as assist with logistics/asset management and data management processesEnsures that documented information is available and suitable in accordance with the PWS.Prepares agendas for and conducts configuration audits to validate the contents of CM libraries against Configuration Control Board (CCB)-approved changes and ensures the audit is brought to closure.Participate in cross-functional change control boards to evaluate proposed changes.Responsible for developing top-down master Configuration Management Database that accurately defines configuration baselines for systems on the operational network.Support and assist in maintaining ATSC Automation Five Year Life-Cycle Replacement Plan detailing needed and recommended equipment, software, hardware, information security for each year.Work with information security and server support personnel to ensure server patching activities are well coordinated with ongoing configuration management support installs of equipment based on determined plans.Assist in maintaining automated inventory tracking system on all baseline and mission systems and equipment to help determine replacement plan base on replacements, repairs, workload for the software/hardware supported.Install and maintain mission software/firmware product baseline including license types, license keys, and quantities used/remaining.Install and test all baseline acquired hardware/software for incorporation into the current system configuration.Monitor mission related network services for availability and reliability conditions, enabling the identification and repair of degrading hardware situations and execution of any hardware/software corrections before the situations cause outagesTroubleshoot, repair, and configure network systems and peripherals and work with vendor technical support to overcome hardware and software issues.Draft, provide, and conduct information briefs, progress reviews, and other status reports as requiredPerform other duties as required to support configuration management activities.Qualifications:
Bachelors degreeMinimum of 6 years experience executing IT service and infrastructure support.Baseline Certification: Security+Computing Environment Certification: Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) Microsoft Server or equivalent.Strong knowledge of high-availability, load-balancing and failover configurations across application, infrastructure, and platform componentsProven ability to write clear and concise technical documents, including design documents, specifications, and technology roadmaps and diagrams.Preferred Qualifications:
Supported the U.S. Army or other DoD/Federal Agency.Has the communication skills to effectively interface with senior military officials, managers, and subordinates.Special Requirements/Security Clearance:
