Overview:
Estimators prepare project estimates for projects ranging across all lines of business. Estimators are responsible for evaluating bid specifications and drawings to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.Must be open to traveling to various jobsites.We are looking for an estimator with experience in gas pipelines, gas transmission and distribution, airport fueling, and heavy civil projects.About UCCO:Underground Construction Co., Inc. has provided quality gas, power, airport fueling and telecom construction services for over 80 years. Our complete and diverse range of construction services includes gas transmission and distribution, electrical transmission and distribution, airport fueling facilities, industrial and special projects, telecommunications, and utilities.Responsibilities:Coordinates total estimating effort relevant to a particular bid/project as assignedChecks bid source files to ensure latest information available prior to bid dayReviews proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimateGenerates RFIs necessary to establish competitive baselinePerforms material take-offs and mathematical calculations accuratelyDetermines type of materials, equipment, labor, and subcontractors requiredInterfaces with vendors and subcontractors for relevant information/quotationsIdentifies potential risks, opportunities, and alternative solutionsDetermines labor and equipment needed to maximize profit and efficiencyReviews, tracks, and records bid results for continuous improvement and history trackingMaintains files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures, including current/accurate information on prices from suppliers and subcontractorsOther related duties and projects as assignedQualifications:

Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent3 years construction estimating experience required5+ years Utility Experience is preferredPossesses strong written & verbal communications skills & manages time effectivelyAbility to read and understand drawings and specificationsStrong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Microsoft Project & ExcelDetail oriented with a positive attitude & eagerness to learnAbility to work extended hours when necessary for business needsDemonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environmentAbility and willingness to travel as neededAbility to maintain a valid drivers licenseSupervisory ResponsibilitiesNone
Physical RequirementsSome lifting (up to 15 lbs.)Long hours on computerProlonged periods of standing and/or walkingWork to be conducted primarily in an office, however some work may be completed at project sitesPay- $ 110,000 - $ 130,000 /Annually *Depending on ExperienceBenefits include-- Medical, Dental, Vision, 401KOur projects are regulated by federal and state laws which require all employees to successfully pass criminal background checks, MVR, and drug tests (post-employment and random testing).
