This includes the management of applications, business continuity, facility A/V and networking systems, staff technology onboarding and training, helpdesk operations, information security, infrastructure, new IT projects, vendor and personnel management. You will lead technical systems and collaborate with staff throughout the organization to improve program outcomes and efficiency of business operations, and you will play a leading role in advancing digital innovation in our data-driven organization culture. This role reports to the Chief Communications and Marketing Officer.LocationThis position is based in Washington, DC near McPherson Square Metro as part of a hybrid environment with Tuesdays, Thursdays, and sometimes Wednesdays in the office.ResponsibilitiesAssess technology needs of the organization and make recommendations on IT solutions to streamline efficiency and business operationsAdvise senior executives on innovative, strategic IT solutionsPlan and implement software and hardware projects across the organizationMaintain inventory of all organizational technology assets; continually assess inventory and ensure efficient deployment of assets, including hardware and software licensesOversee selection and purchase of all IT solutionsInstall, set up and configure hardware and software for new and existing usersCreate policies and procedures on organizational technology useProvide support and customer service on IT issues to all users at the organizationManage the relationships with all outside vendors to troubleshoot day-to-day IT challengesImplement and manage backup and disaster recovery measuresPlan and manage IT budget; monitor spendingProvide staff training on technology tools and solutionsCollaborate with all departments in planning and budgetingCollaborate with publishing, membership, training, executive, and other teams to set up and support the apps they use, achieve business goals, and improve digital experiencesProvide leadership and vision to improve and evolve our systems and improve our resultsAssess various options for optimizing and customizing systemsLead or participate in the evaluation, selection, setup and launch of new systems to address new requirements and to ensure systems, processes and data integrationEnsure design and brand standards are applied and improvedIn collaboration with other teams, manage and maintain systems and services for web hosting, events, training, CRM, bulk email, digital marketing, publishing, advertising, analytics and othersManage staff and vendors for day-to-day tech administration, project management and supportOther technical projects and duties as may be assignedQualifications5+ years of IT management experiencePrevious supervisory experienceBachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experienceSkilled and proficient in server management, cloud storage management, network and firewall configuration, Microsoft Office 365 and Google Workspace, antivirus software, CRM, Windows and Macintosh operating systems, printer networking and configuration, VOIP systemsKnowledge of contracting and budget managementStrong written and verbal communications skillsAbility to multitask, prioritize multiple projects and tasks, and operate in a fast-paced work environmentNonprofit management experience preferredKnowledge, Skills, and AttributesAnalytical: Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesizes data or diverse informationProblem-solving: Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner and gathers and analyzes information skillfullyOral Communication:Exceptional communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both collaboratively and independentlyLeadership:Inspires and motivates others to perform well and accepts feedback from othersQuality Management: Look for ways to improve business processes and demonstrate accuracy and thoroughnessPlanning & Organizing:Prioritizes and plans their work activities, uses time efficiently, and develops realistic action plansJudgment:Displays willingness to make decisions exhibits sound and accurate judgment and makes timely decisionsSafety & Security: Observe safety and security procedures and use equipment and materials properly
