Dorsey & Whitney LLP is seeking an experienced attorney to join the Labor & Employment department in our Southern California office in Costa Mesa. The Labor & Employment group prides itself on a team-focused approach to client service and attorney development, giving attorneys opportunities to work shoulder to shoulder with partners, as well as direct client contact. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to work on complex, often cutting-edge issues, with a priority on providing timely and pragmatic legal advice.

The successful candidate will be expected to handle the following types of tasks with little supervision:Advise and counsel sophisticated employers on a variety of employment and human resources related issuesDraft the full range of employment-related agreementsConduct audits and investigationsConduct legal research and draft research memorandaHandle complex wage and hour class actions, including mediation as well as active litigationHandle all stages of single-plaintiff litigation matters, including strategy and client communication regarding same

Qualified candidates will have:10 to 15 years of employment litigation and/or counseling experience in a law firm setting or in-house counsel roleStrong client service skillsCalifornia bar admissionA team-based approach to the practice of lawA commitment to personal practice developmentExcellent analytical and writing skillsExcellent verbal communication skills

For California applicants only, the salary range for this position starts at $200,000. Pay is determined based on depth of experience in the practice area.
