SUMMARY:
The Branch Manager (“BM”) is responsible for the gross profit and operating performance of the sales office. The BM is directly responsible for hiring, training, developing and directing the Sales and Marketing Representatives (“SMR”) and Territory Development Representatives (“TDR”) for the branch. The BM must work collaboratively with the Regional Sales Manager, and Regional Sales Engineer for the branch and territory, respectively, to increase sales within key accounts, to increase supplier diversity, and to achieve or exceed the sales budget. This person must have a strong business acumen that will enable him or her to prioritize business effectively, and, in turn, make calculated decisions that will improve the overall profitability and performance of the branch. Overall, the BM must be able to develop, lead and manage his or her team, play a key role in capitalizing on business development opportunities, and execute the sales strategy set in place for the branch and region.
***Sales Management experience in the connector/cable assembly industry is highly preferred
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
BA/BS or equivalent relevant work experience
Five years (minimum) professional selling experience preferably in electro-mechanical components industry, with high-value electronic connectors
Five years (minimum) in sales management, preferably electronics distribution
Field sales experience preferred, not required
Advanced skill level in Microsoft Office, specifically EXCEL, WORD and OUTLOOK
Experience with an ERP system (such as AS400) as well as a CRM system, preferably NetSuite
ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Hire, train and mentor SMR’s and TDR’s who will be highly proficient and successful at consultative selling and at supporting PEI’s products
Be responsible for annual budget and forecasting process
Implement strategic operating plans to maximize PEI’s effectiveness for financial and operational success including setting and tracking goals and objectives
Promote PEI’s corporate vision and ICARE values to encourage effective teamwork, continual improvement, customer focus and ethical behavior
Support all internal and external customer, quality and government compliance requirements
Keep informed of competitor activities, industry trends and emerging markets to defend and grow PEI’s market share
Build and maintain a bench for the SMR and TDR sales teams
Meet with regional resources to review and maximize branch sales strategy execution
Provide weekly reports and updates to the Regional Sales Manager on the results of branch strategies and initiatives as well as account reviews with SMR and TDR teams
Responsible for fostering collaboration between the branch sales team and the Product Management department to grow and penetrate top potential customers and regional market through day-to-day business activities and specific shared initiatives
Work closely with the Marketing department to bring PEI brand awareness to local and regional branch customers and PEI suppliers
Escalate critical situations concerning sales and customer activities to the appropriate manager or decision maker
Utilize NetSuite CRM customer roll-up dashboard as the premier sales tool to grow supplier diversity within all customer accounts
Collaborate with Product Managers on shared initiatives at target customers to build brand awareness and to grow revenue
Engage with local suppliers and supplier manufacturers’ representatives - scheduling business reviews to discuss top customers and growth opportunities for the branch
Review and take appropriate action when necessary on Daily Bookings Report, Intraday Performance Report, Static Resale Report, Quote Push, Manual Hold, Credit Hold, Transit Shelf, Lost Business Report and Bonds and report action summary to the VP of NA Sales, Director of NA Sales Operations and Regional Sales Manager
Develop personal contacts within the branch’s top 25 budgeted customers to further enhance PEI’s relationships at all customer levels
Responsible for overseeing and decision-making for top 25 customer opportunities in the branch
Organize and execute account reviews with SMR and TDR teams to develop, implement, and coach effective action plans for top 10 budgeted, prospective, and under-performing accounts
Conduct annual performance reviews and develop effective performance improvement plans to drive individual accountability and career growth
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $135,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year
