The Department of Genetic Counseling in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at the MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston is seeking a 0.25 FTE faculty member to start August 1, 2024.Faculty member responsibilities:

Coordinating and teaching two M.S. Genetic Counseling courses: "Pediatric and Adult Genetic Counseling" and "Advanced Clinical and Medical Genetics."Additional responsibilities:

Facilitating the student fieldwork experience within Mass General Brigham (MGB, BWH) to meet case requirements in accordance with ACGC (Accreditation Council for Genetic Counseling) requirements. Other teaching opportunities are available.Collaborative responsibilities:

Enhancing and evaluating student standardized patient experiences, curriculum development, student recruitment, and the admissions process. Additional roles include serving as a Capstone research advisor. The successful applicant will also be expected to take part in scholarly and professional activities.Preference:

Strong preference will be given to candidates within Mass General Brigham who are already supervising students for clinical fieldwork and are well-positioned to serve as the fieldwork liaison to the M.S. Genetic Counseling Program. Specifically, there is strong preference for a genetic counselor already employed within Mass General Brigham, Brigham & Women's Hospital. Experience in supervising students in fieldwork, teaching, and scholarship is preferred.Commitment required:

The candidate must have a master's degree in Genetic Counseling from an accredited program, be ABGC Board-certified and licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (or eligible for MA licensure).Have at least 3 years of experience as a genetic counselor.
