Job Description:

As Mars continues to evolve its strategy to meet the demands of tomorrow, the Strategic Capabilities (SC) team is a critical driver for proactively assessing, diagnosing and defining the Associate capability growth strategies, skills and competencies for the business with end to end accountability for the Mars Enterprise Learning strategy.

As the critical global functional advisor roles on the SC, the Global Director SC Business Colleges will be the trusted advisor and partner of all Global Business College Deans and the Global P&O BPs who support the colleges. The role will assess and diagnose new strategic functional capabilities and will advise on the maintenance of current functional college curriculums to ensure the functions are driving the most strategic segment objectives aligned to learner experience goals and objectives evolving existing curriculums and assessing and retiring existing curriculum that are no longer relevant with the ultimate goal of strengthening Mars Global Segment strategy and ultimately Mars Enterprise needs to succeed today and tomorrow.

The Global Director SC Business Colleges serve as a seasoned consultant, advisor and partner to the Global College Deans and P&O BPs bringing expertise in strategic capability planning / capability building (processes, methodologies, frameworks, tools, technology, etc.) providing expert input to and enabling of the global 1-3 year Capabilities Strategies. The role works directly with the Global College Deans and P&O BPs to diagnose and define future functional capabilities, competency, and skill requirements to develop a strategic workforce / Capability strategy to fill identified gaps critical to enabling the functional strategies.

This role works closely with the full SC team and Mars Global Services Learning (MGSL) to integrate functional capability roadmaps to create and deploy a company-wide view of strategic capabilities advising on prioritization of resources and investments over 1-3 years. Additionally, the Global Director SC Business Colleges will act as a consultant for the global functions and the enterprise to anticipate and build resilience and adaptability for future shifts in capability needs to meet functional and market demands.

Key Responsibilities

The Global Director SC Business Colleges will drive the capability building agenda throughout the organization by:Partnering closely with functions (e.g. R&D, Demand, Commercial, Supply), global and regional business leaders and Global and Regional P&O stakeholders to diagnose future functional capability needs and gaps, acting as an Internal consultant to identify and leverage "new to Mars" functional capabilities, methodologies, frameworks and tools Including but not limited to understanding the intricacies of the function and the challenges faced due to changing business objectives expectations, and trends.Owning the capabilities relationship with the global functions for SC, serving as a global single point of contact collaborating closely with P&O / TCR Leadership. The Intent Is the Global Director SC Business Colleges will join the Global Cross Segment Functional LTs in a similar capacity to the MyP&O Directors as liaison and counsel for the COEs.Offering deep expertise in strategic workforce / capability planning and strategic capability building to translate functional strategy into data driven capability development roadmapsCo-facilitating (where the function has requested co-facilitation) or facilitating on behalf of the global functional college capability planning with global P&O BPs, transferring to and/or sharing expertise with (methods, tools, frameworks, technology, etc.) global and regional P&O BP'sLeveraging key insights, metrics, and data to ensure the capability building strategy and initiatives are tailored to achieve specific functional objectivesAdvise on leading global functional trends, KPIs and metrics, and change management activities to drive implementation and success for the functions.Providing guidance to MGS Learning on the learning initiatives to design, develop, and deploy to close capability gaps and to shape and tailor learning solutions to meet functional needsLiaising with Culture, Talent, Inclusion & Diversity, Associate Health and Wellbeing or Rewards as neededProviding feedback to SC and sharing information with other Strategic Capability Partners to refine and improve functional and enterprise capability building methods, tools, and materials

Education & Professional Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (Master's Preferred) in areas such as Human Resources, Psychology, Organizational Development, Business, or related fields15+ years of experience advising internal / external customersExperience in the Functions - with a Talent, learning, skills, or other competency-focused role strongly preferredExperience as a consultant is a plus design talent strategies and initiatives

Knowledge & Skills

Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service, working closely with senior leadersProven track record leveraging methodologies and frameworks to design talent strategies and initiativesExperience conducting root cause analysis and problem solvingExceptional ability to coordinate and manage multiple client engagements simultaneously with competing priorities and perspectivesExperience working across geographies and culturesAbility to facilitate workshops and co-creation sessions with various stakeholdersStrong understanding of leading talent practices and strategy elementsA strong stakeholder focus with action orientationExpertise in employee capability building, strategic workforce planning, learning, development and leadershipExperience as an HR Business partner or similar role with a strong business focus / acumen and value creation driven approach preferred
