At New Balance, We Got Now.JOB MISSION:The Network Architect will work as part of IT Global Network Services to develop reference architectures, design plans, roadmaps and standards for secure, scalable network infrastructure across the enterprise. The position is responsible for understanding business and technical requirements in order to develop advanced network solutions for global deployment. This individual will provide technical leadership and consulting across the organization, from strategic decision making down to the project planning level. The Network Architect will guide efforts to evaluate and select technology solutions and gain organizational commitment for high-level network infrastructure plans.MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:Develop and communicate network infrastructure strategies, design standards, and related tactical plans.Research and recommend next generation network technology, products, & services.Design company LANs, WANs, trust zone architectures, wireless networks, internet access, 3rd party access, cloud service provider connectivity and VPN solutions.Consult peer groups, business units and corporate stakeholders in the development of project plans & architectures.Participate in the creation of policies, procedures, and staff development plans.Provide technical direction and assistance to Network Engineers, peer infrastructure groups and other technology stakeholders in the company.Take a holistic approach to developing technology plans incorporating technical, business, financial, process and human resourcing aspects.Conduct research and make recommendations on products, services, protocols, and standards in support of all network procurement and development efforts.Serve as Tier 4 Support for network operations in corporate, retail, cloud and data center network environments. Support typically involves very occasional troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and integration activities upon escalation.REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:University STEM Degree or equivalent experience.Advanced Switching/Routing, Security and/or Cloud certs or equivalent experience.Experience with designing and building LAN, MAN, WAN, internet, VPN, WiFi, data center network environments.7+ years in a multinational enterprise environment that operates 7x24 services to a multitude of customers and business units.At least 4 of those 7 years in an architect or principal engineer role for one or more large, complex networks.Technical leadership experience in a large, complex enterprise (e.g. at least 200 sites in 30+ countries in EMEA, Americas and APAC regions, with at least 30k+ users).Experience dealing with compliance-related regulations like PCI, HIPAA, GDPR, etc. is preferred.
