The work we do in Digital is a strategic imperative, and there is a strong and growing understanding of how together we will transform Mass General Brigham in innovative and impactful ways.Position SummaryThe Software Engineer II-Release Manager will contribute to the success of the Salesforce Health Cloud full SDLC (Software Development LifeCycle).Principal Duties/ResponsibilitiesWill be involved in all phases of project life cycle, assisting in the technical design, coding, implementation, and maintenance of the assigned systems.Works with the project team, which includes users and analysts, to develop technical solutions which integrate with the current systems.Attends meetings with the core team members to receive updates on the work or the status of the ongoing project in the organization.Creating Release Management strategy and executing Minor/Major releases on a weekly, monthly and quarterly intervals.Define and manage change control process for sandbox development, release readiness criteria and ensure all changes adhere to MGB standard protocols.Provide on-going project release cycle status reports to Digital leadership, user groups, project steering committee and executive hospital management.Identify and mitigate risks during code conflict and merging. Ensure only high-quality code is deployed to production environments.Conduct release and code reviews and feel comfortable making a decision on GoLive release.Define and recommend Performance Testing strategies and metrics that should be factored into Release Management cycle.Establish and create a positive project environment through leadership and mentoring.Provide quality customer service, providing on-going communication, feedback and follow-through with customers and executive management.Use the Mass General Brigham values to govern decisions, actions, and behaviors.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field required.5 or more years of relevant experience in Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) process.Salesforce Certified Candidates (Administrator and/or Developer Certifications) preferred.5 or more years of relevant Salesforce Development experience (APEX, Lightning, LWC) with Salesforce CORE Platform.Experienced with Release Management, Version Control and CI/CD concepts.Experienced with GitLab, GitHub, JIRA and Jenkins is preferred.A combination of education and experience may be substituted for requirements.Skills/Abilities/CompetenciesAbility to manage mid to large, complex projects, including their dependencies, team members, other resources, and timeline.Ability to prioritize and delegate project demands accordingly.Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.Strong analytic and problem-solving skills.Ability to work with people cooperatively and effectively from all organizational levels and build consensus through negotiation and diplomacy.Ability to facilitate and work within a complex, multi-site environment.Flexible, adaptable, and versatile.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNo direct reports; may indirectly provide leadership and guidance to less seasoned and new staff.Fiscal ResponsibilitiesDemonstrates fiscal responsibility by effectively using Mass General Brigham resources.Working ConditionsRemote role, optional occasional local travel to MGB sites, vendors, and/or conferences.Hospital work environment working conditions include possible exposure to diseases or infections and may require safety gear (PPE) such as gloves and masks.Normal office working conditions. The noise level in the work environment is quiet to moderate.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; talk; or hear; use hands to finger; handle; or feel; reach with hands and arms.
