The Assistant Director will play a key role in the oversight and advancement of student organizations, equity-focused student leadership development, and student-focused event planning. The Assistant Director will receive support from and report to the Director of Student Engagement. The ideal candidate will have experience with event planning, advising student organizations, and strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.Serve as the primary advisor for student clubs and organizations, including the registration and formation of new clubs and organizations on campus.Oversee student club and organization event planning, purchasing, and general day-to-day support, which includes collaboration with the Student Government Association, which oversees student organization budgets.Develop and implement training and leadership development opportunities for student leaders of clubs and organizations.Oversee and manage the student engagement platform, Campus Connect, which is run on the Campus Groups platform.Oversee the coordination and implementation of programming efforts for the Jennifer Eckert Center for Leadership and Engagement, including welcome weeks, first six weeks programming, as well as ongoing programming throughout the year.Advise the Campus Activities Board.Manage marketing and social media accounts for the Jennifer Eckert Center for Leadership and Engagement, promoting a vibrant student life on campus.OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAssist with the coordination and implementation of First Bite Orientation (fall and spring).Participate in Admission panels, Friends & Family Weekend, and other University events.Build and maintain strong campus partnerships with health promotion and wellness, athletics, campus police, facilities, event services, finance, and other University colleagues.Serve as a Conduct Review Officer.Serve in the after hours Administrator on-call rotation, responding to student concerns as necessary.Supervise student Office Assistants and Graduate Assistants as needed.Other duties as assigned.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree required;One to three years of related experience (two years of graduate experience is equivalent to one year of full-time experience);Demonstrated experience overseeing, mentoring, and advising student clubs and organizations;Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations of students and diverse stakeholders;Demonstrated experience with large- and small-scale event planning, implementation, and budget management;Ability to work occasional nights and weekends;Ability to work in a student-centered, high-energy, fast-paced environment.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSMaster's degree in higher education, student development, counseling, or related field preferred;Experience working with student engagement platforms.COMPETENCIESProblem SolvingCustomer Service OrientedCommunication (Written, Verbal, Presentation)Commitment to Inclusive Excellence and Social JusticeTeamworkWORK ENVIRONMENT & CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDSHybrid eligible, up to two days per week remote;12 months;40 hours per week;Normal office setting;Frequent sitting for long periods; occasional kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, walking and standing; occasional reaching above and below desk level;Frequent lifting/carrying of papers, files, equipment, and material weighing up to 10 pounds; occasional lifting up to 25 pounds;Frequent fine manipulation sufficient to operate a computer keyboard; frequent grasping to handle individual papers, write and take notes, and feel individual objects.Instructions to Applicants : Please upload
