Senior Electrical Designer (DOE Project)

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is recruiting for a, Senior Electrical Designer , for a 8-month contract assignment supporting the UPF project in Oak Ridge, TN. This onsite role offers a W2 hourly base rate with time and a half for overtime, per diem, and mobilization / demobilization. Our client is targeting $80.00 - $85.00/hour for this role.

Project Overview:
This position will provide support to the Uranium Processing Facility (UPF) located at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, TN. UPF is a multi-year, multi-billion-dollar project and will be a first-of-its-kind complex for enriched uranium operations. The UPF project works on a 4/10 schedule. Start times are flexible but the standard work week is Monday - Thursday from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm.
Responsibilities:
- Works under the direction of more senior engineers/designers.
- Electrical Physical (and circuit and raceway) design activities for raceway design, equipment location and layout, C&R schedule inputting and update using Setroute, conduit and raceway design.
- Responsible to produce lower and higher tier drawings and documentation in accordance with established conceptual design and scope, including design of lighting, grounding layout, grounding designs/calculations, and lightning protection systems.
- Develops specifications for equipment and material where deviation from standard documentation is required.
- Responsibilities also include ensuring that the electrical system design comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards.
- May interface with Construction and Subcontractors.
