Nesco Resource is looking for an experienced Tool and Gage Inspector located in West Hartford, CT. This is a direct hire opportunity for the right candidate.

Shift: Monday-Friday 6:42AM-3:12M

Pay:
Level 2: $28.23/Hour
-Level 3: $31.90/Hour
(Will be tested for Level placement)

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conducts routine inspection of components and subassemblies as required, and determines conformance to drawing specification, with an emphasis on dimensional layout.
  • Follows company policies and procedures about the Quality System as they apply.
  • Conducts timely First Article Inspections and determines conformance to specifications, Quality plans and or other customer requirements as directed.
  • Added emphasis on performing complete dimensional layout of complex components and assemblies.
  • Uses blueprints, quality plans, control plans, sampling plans and inspection procedures for products as required.
  • Participates in special product and process studies as directed by the Quality Supervisor, or Quality Engineers
  • Utilizes standard industry inspection equipment to conduct product and process inspections as required. Typical equipment would include CMMs (Vision and Touch Probe), Hand Micrometers, Comparators, Calipers, and various handheld gage, etc.
  • Must accurately prepare various inspection reports as required to document inspection results and identify all non-conformances.
  • Results must be reported on a timely basis.
  • Prepares internal nonconformance reports and segregates all identified nonconforming products in accordance to company procedure.
Qualifications:
  • Strong knowledge in mathematics, specifically trigonometry
  • Demonstrated knowledge/experience in Geometric, Dimensioning and Tolerance (GDT)
  • Demonstrated knowledge/experience in inspection techniques and processes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge/experience in setting up gages.
  • Must be able to fully understand and interpret prints.
  • Able to perform layout inspections.
  • Ability to think analytically and independently.
  • Ability to work effectively on their own as well as with others at all levels of the organization.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • High school Diploma or equivalent with 5-8 years inspection experience as an inspector of complex components and assemblies in a metal stamping or injection molding or related industry or equivalent
  • Full understanding of the proper use of measurement devices such as Micrometers, Optical comparators, Vision and Touch CMM's, Drop Indicators, Force Gages, Calipers, etc.
  • Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office software (Word and Excel at a minimum)
  • Ability to follow established procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and multi-tasking abilities
