Nesco Resource is working with a client looking for a Financial Controller:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Management & Reporting: Oversee and manage the company's financial activities, including general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, and compliance with US GAAP. Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements.
  • Process Analysis & Improvement: Analyze internal accounting and finance processes to identify areas for improvement, streamline operations, and enhance efficiency.
  • Profitability & Performance Analysis: Evaluate the profitability and performance of different business units. Provide actionable insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop, manage, and update the company's budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor financial performance against budgets and provide variance analysis.
  • Accounting Operations: Manage the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and tax compliance. Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes.
  • System Management: Oversee the use of QuickBooks for accounting and financial management. Ensure the system is used effectively and accurately for all financial transactions and reporting.
  • Compliance & Controls: Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Leadership & Team Management: Supervise and mentor the finance and accounting team, ensuring high performance and professional development.
  • Strategic Support: Work closely with senior management to support strategic initiatives, including mergers & acquisitions and company restructuring efforts.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred).
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting and finance, with a focus on financial analysis, reporting, and process improvement.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and experience managing financial operations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and other financial management software.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer savvy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) & Apple/Mac products.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with mergers & acquisitions and company restructuring.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience working through a financial management software migration (ideally from QuickBooks to another software, such as Netsuite).
  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
