As a DevOps Manager I, you will be the driving force behind our cutting-edge DevOps platforms, ensuring seamless enterprise deployment pipelines and rock-solid code repositories. Outcomes and Activities:

DevOps

  • This position will work from home; occasional planned travel to an assigned Southfield, Michigan office location may be required. However, this position is permitted to work at a Southfield, Michigan office location if requested by the team member.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align with company objectives.
  • Define and enforce standards and procedures for DevOps platforms.
  • Oversee the promotion of software from non-production to production environments.
  • Support deployment pipelines and ensure the security of code repositories.
  • Prioritize and manage new projects, addressing risks to scope, timeline, and budget.
  • Coordinate the resolution of pipeline incidents.
  • Drive strategic initiatives to enhance application reliability and performance.
  • Mentor team members on DevOps best practices and process improvements.
  • Automate manual processes to accelerate engineering projects.
  • Support engineering teams in defining and implementing new system requirements.
  • Lead debugging efforts in production and assist with testing.
  • Develop tools to meet customer requirements and integrate with engineering tools.
  • Ensure high availability and fault tolerance of automated systems.
  • Actively participate in Agile practices and contribute to sprint commitments.
  • Perform capacity planning and monitoring, predicting system growth.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation.

Other

  • Serves as a 24/7 escalation point for the team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing DevOps teams, including some experience with conflict resolution, setting and enforcing performance expectations, mentoring and career guidance.
  • Working experience in technical leadership, capable of providing mentorship, cross-functional project execution, collaborating on and executing technical vision and strategy
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in DevOps, Software Engineering, or a related IT field.
  • Strong experience directly leading people on technical teams or projects.
  • Expertise with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, CircleCI, GitLab CI, Bamboo, Harness, GitHub Actions).
  • Expertise with infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible).
  • Expertise with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher).
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Dynatrace, Splunk, Grafana).
  • Experience with database technologies (Oracle, PostgreSQL, Liquibase).
  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, Groovy).
  • Experience with service mesh technologies (App Mesh, Istio).

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with Linux and/or Windows environments.
  • Experience with test automation frameworks (JUnit, API, Robot, Cucumber, SpecFlow, etc.).
  • Experience configuring and maintaining database versioning tools (Red Gate, Datical, etc.).
  • Experience with application and infrastructure monitoring for performance and availability.
  • Experience managing source code solutions and branching strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing automation-enabled solutions.
  • Experience within a Java / C++ environment.
  • Experience with cloud-based technologies such as Azure DevOps or AWS.
  • Experience with automation technologies and scripting languages like Ansible, PowerShell, Python, Groovy, Node, Go.
  • 8 years of software engineering experience.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager, Google Cloud Deployment Manager).

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to innovate, design, and build DevOps solutions for the enterprise.
  • Demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset by integrating code quality, security, and automated testing capabilities.
  • Be a strong collaborator with product owners, understanding business needs to deliver robust solutions.
  • Act as a change agent by introducing DevOps standards, methodologies, and automation.
  • Ability to automate unit and integration test cases and solve complex problems.
  • Experience and understanding of the business value created and driven by DevOps work.
  • Strong understanding of relevant and emerging technologies, with the ability to provide input and coach team members.
  • Ability to understand and analyze complex problems requiring evaluation of intangible variables.

Targeted Total Compensation: A competitive base salary + an annual variable bonus (cash and equity) will range from $119,625 to 253,000. This position may also be eligible for a sign-on RSU grant.

Final compensation within the range is influenced by many factors including role-specific skills, depth and experience level, industry background, relevant education and certifications, and geographic location.
