Overview: As a Manufacturing Engineer with a focus in controls troubleshooting, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of manufacturing processes within a tier 1 auto supplier. Your responsibilities will primarily revolve around troubleshooting and maintaining automated systems, optimizing production processes, and ensuring quality standards are met. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to implement improvements and drive continuous enhancements in manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Controls Troubleshooting : Maintain control systems for manufacturing equipment and processes. This includes PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) programming, HMI (Human-Machine Interface) development, and integrating various sensors and actuators for automated operations.
  2. Process Optimization: Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, productivity, and quality. Develop and implement solutions to streamline operations, reduce cycle times, and minimize waste.
  3. Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and troubleshooting of automated manufacturing equipment. Develop preventive maintenance schedules, conduct routine inspections, and coordinate repairs as needed to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  4. Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality assurance teams to establish and maintain quality standards for manufacturing processes. Implement control measures to monitor product quality, identify defects, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  5. Continuous Improvement: Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen events. Drive initiatives to enhance process efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall operational performance.
  6. Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate documentation of control systems, programming codes, and process changes. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards, such as ISO, OSHA, and automotive quality requirements.
  7. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including production, engineering, maintenance, and quality assurance to support manufacturing operations. Communicate effectively to address issues, implement solutions, and drive collaborative problem-solving.
  8. Training and Support: Provide training and technical support to production personnel on the operation and maintenance of automated systems. Develop training materials and procedures to ensure safe and efficient utilization of manufacturing equipment.
