Overview: As a Manufacturing Engineer with a focus in controls troubleshooting, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of manufacturing processes within a tier 1 auto supplier. Your responsibilities will primarily revolve around troubleshooting and maintaining automated systems, optimizing production processes, and ensuring quality standards are met. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to implement improvements and drive continuous enhancements in manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Controls Troubleshooting : Maintain control systems for manufacturing equipment and processes. This includes PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) programming, HMI (Human-Machine Interface) development, and integrating various sensors and actuators for automated operations.
- Process Optimization: Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, productivity, and quality. Develop and implement solutions to streamline operations, reduce cycle times, and minimize waste.
- Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and troubleshooting of automated manufacturing equipment. Develop preventive maintenance schedules, conduct routine inspections, and coordinate repairs as needed to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality assurance teams to establish and maintain quality standards for manufacturing processes. Implement control measures to monitor product quality, identify defects, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen events. Drive initiatives to enhance process efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall operational performance.
- Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate documentation of control systems, programming codes, and process changes. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards, such as ISO, OSHA, and automotive quality requirements.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including production, engineering, maintenance, and quality assurance to support manufacturing operations. Communicate effectively to address issues, implement solutions, and drive collaborative problem-solving.
- Training and Support: Provide training and technical support to production personnel on the operation and maintenance of automated systems. Develop training materials and procedures to ensure safe and efficient utilization of manufacturing equipment.
