We currently have a great assignment for a Mechanical Engineer. This individual will support our client, a construction management firm helping their clients manage large, complex construction projects. Job Responsibilities

The Mechanical Engineer will join our client’s engineering team in Jacksonville, NC and will provide technical oversight for the design, installation and acceptance of mechanical systems.

Responsibilities of the Mechanical Engineer include:

  • Reviewing HVAC designs focusing on constructability of systems, Duct Air Leakage Testing (DALT), Testing, Adjusting and Balancing (TAB) and system performance
  • Verifying TAB requirements are incorporated in the construction documents per Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) and Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS) requirements
  • Reviewing Performance Verification Testing (PVT) designs to ensure the controls system is controls system is complete, functional and meets the applicable UFC and UFGS requirements
  • Witnessing mechanical system testing, which consists of site inspection, TAB verification, DALT and PVT for facility HVAC and other mechanical systems prior to construction completion
  • Validating design installation, system balancing, digital controls, equipment start and operation for the following:
    • Air handlers
    • Chillers
    • Pumps
    • Boilers
    • Terminal equipment
    • Energy recovery and renewable energy
    • Distribution systems
  • Verifying proper installation, operation and programming of Building Management Systems to ensure that they meet project specifications and operate per sequence of operations
