Generous mileage rate is paid for travel.Position Overview:

The

Substance Use Disorder Counselor

is a professional full-time position that directs and delivers substance use services in a residential program for people living with co-occurring disorder and substance use disorder. The

Substance Use Disorder Counselor

provides individual and group counseling as well as family psychoeducation services. The

Substance Use Disorder Counselor

works in collaboration with the community justice team in the delivery of milieu treatment that is focused on the principles of recovery. Knowledge of the criminal justice system is preferred as many of the participants are referred to the program pre and post release from incarceration.This position requires the ability to work a flexible schedule, primarily positioned at Two Bridges Regional Jail, with flexibility to occasionally work with groups at Knox County Jail and Maine Coastal Regional Reentry Center. We pay a generous mileage rate for all work-related travel!Wage: $23-$27 hourly

based on current licensure CADC or LADC and years of experience in the field of working with criminally justice individuals who have substance use disorder.This is a team-focused position and all staff work in concert to ensure services are delivered in a person-first, respectful, and mission-driven system of care.Essential Job Functions:Maintain a thorough knowledge of co-occurring disorders and utilize evidence-based practices in the delivery of individual and group counseling services, family psychoeducation, and supportive services.Work as an active member of the multidisciplinary team to ensure service planning and delivery addresses recovery goals for substance use and serious mental illness.Possess excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrate dependability, adaptability, and integrity. Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and ethical standards.Collaborate with the Program Manager in the development of assessments and service plans. Ability to integrate assessments and observations into individualized interventions and service approaches to meet client needs.Provide in the areas of psychosocial rehabilitation and evidence-based practices in co-occurring disorders groups.Serve as a role model by treating clients, staff, and community partners with empathy and respect, modeling flexibility and clear communication.Attend all scheduled staff meetings and work as an active member of the team to ensure productive problem-solving, sound interventions, and client-driven services.Participate in and contribute to other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Complete AC-OK, Addiction Severity Index assessments as well as LS/CMI assessment.Education, Experience, and Qualifications:Current CADC or LADC licensure;Two years working with adults with co-occurring disorders preferred.Experience working with people returning to the community following incarceration preferred;Excellent interpersonal and community skills required;Strong oral and written communication skills;Ability to work collaboratively with community providers, agency leadership, clinicians, and direct care staff;Ability to accept and seek supervision;Ability to be flexible, patient, energetic, and creative in supporting the varied needs of the program;Valid Maine’s Driver's license and good driving record;Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.We are pleased to offer medical insurance at under $20/pay period for Full-time employees!
