Join Our JourneyCornell Research & Innovation creates an environment that unifies and advances Cornell's scholarship, research, and discovery through state-of-the-art core facilities, domain expertise, and partnership to enable innovation and impact. We leverage external funding and partnerships, enable interdisciplinary research, and ensure regulatory compliance. We collaborate to successfully translate and commercialize research through companies large and small, including startups launched by our entrepreneurial faculty, staff, and students. Our commitment to inclusive excellence makes this environment possible.

Research & Innovation at Cornell encompasses multiple entities - facilities, laboratories, institutes, and centers (FLICs) - for interdisciplinary research in the various scientific clusters: Physical Systems, Biological Systems, and Societal Systems. Physical systems are a collection of physical objects under study - the objects coexist and have some level of physical relationship. Fields of study include particle physics, nanoscale research, solid-state physics, astrophysics and planetary science. Laboratories and research centers are most common in the Physical Systems cluster, with the type of study and area of physical systems set in each FLIC by the funded research proposal. With this cluster, the communications specialist will be working with long-established facilities housing complex equipment, such as the synchrotron and the nanoscale facility, and research spanning international locations, such as CERN. Research in the cluster may contain both internal and external funding sources, as well as promotional work for awareness and funding support.

We seek a curious and creative professional to support communications and marketing efforts across Physical Systems as part of a reorganized Research & Innovation Communications team.
