Our growing law firm is looking to hire a family attorney who is fiercely passionate about representing clients facing one of the most challenging times in their lives. Candidates should be adept at preparing necessary legal documents in connection with prenuptial agreements, initiating and finalizing divorces, alimony, child support/child custody, and real estate. Experience in handling legal issues such as child abuse, child custody, and domestic violence is also a must. Keep client files properly organized and up to dateCommunicate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move through the civil litigation processManage the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings when neededDraft pleadings, motions, contracts, marital settlement agreements, judgments, and orders for a high volume of casesRepresent clients in court proceedings as neededQualifications:
Ability to successfully represent both plaintiff and defendant sides of a caseExtra consideration for those with a criminal justice backgroundGreat negotiation and communication skills, particularly in stressful and emotional situationsAt least 1-2 years of working in a law firm on family law issues as well as real estate (determining marital property) is necessaryActive member of the ABA (American Bar Association)Must have the desire to become board-certified in Family LawEnjoy taking cases to trial or pursuing aggressive, early settlementsMust be able to manage a large docketWork with and delegate to a large spectrum of personalitiesWe represent great parents. You must be equally comfortable advocating for custody for a man or a womanMust be comfortable representing parties in CPS casesMust be licensed to practice law in TexasCompensation: $110,000+ DOE
