Are you a skilled IT Security Analyst seeking the perfect role to showcase your expertise? Look no further!
We are currently seeking an IT Security Analyst I for our Department of Technology, Management, and Budget (DTMB) Agency Services, supporting the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT).
What will you be doing?
Your primary responsibilities will include:Developing System Security Plans (SSPs) for new applications in line with the Secure Application Development Life Cycle (SADLC) and Michigan Security Accreditation Process (MiSAP).Updating SSPs for existing applications requiring authority to operate (ATO) and those undergoing software and/or hardware enhancements.Continuously monitoring plans of action and milestones (POA&M) and corrective action plans (CAP) in relation to the SSPs, in collaboration with the MDOT Enterprise Information Management (EIM) office.Verifying SSPs to ensure they meet NIST control requirements.Writing recommendations based on your findings to enhance the customer's security posture in accordance with SOM PSP & NIST controls.Assisting team members and vendors with proper artifact collection to meet assessment requirements.What do you need to bring?
The ideal candidate will have:
At least 1 year of experience in the IT industry, analyzing and applying information security principles and practices.Experience reviewing IT systems/applications, along with basic knowledge of networking components and various operating systems.Experience analyzing the applicable NIST Special Publications 800-37 Revision 1, 800-53 Revision 3,4 or 5, and 800-53A Revision 1.Experience with other Security Frameworks (ISO, NIST, COBIT, HIPAA/HITECH, etc.) and regulatory requirements is a plus.CISSP, CISA, PMP and/or Security+ certification is beneficial.Experience working with software vendors to implement security controls is advantageous.Ability to work independently and in a team environment.Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical matters to a non-technical audience.
