Fox TV Stations FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment, and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor, and advertiser demand for the FOX Network's national content.JOB DESCRIPTION

FOX 26, the Fox Owned and Operated multi-platform media hub in Houston, TX, is looking for our next associate producer. The ideal candidate has newsroom experience, a passion for local journalism, and a desire to help transform the way we deliver news and information to our diverse multi-platform audience. You'll help create quality, engaging content for broadcast and digital platforms in collaboration with producers, executive producers, assignment editors, digital producers, anchors, and reporters. This content could include news, pop-culture, weather, and even traffic-related content as assigned. You'll need strong writing skills with particular attention given to captivating headlines, teases, and easy-to-digest copy. You'll also need the ability to edit video for broadcast, web, and social platforms. The goal for all associate producers is to grow in their roles, filling in as producers with the intent to advance within the company.You'll be working collaboratively with a cross-section of newsroom employees, so strong people skills and a positive attitude are keys to success. We're a 24/7 operation, with frequent tight deadlines and unpredictable events. Candidates must be willing and able to work any shift, including overnight, early morning, or weekends.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

A 4-year degree in journalism, media studies, or a related field is preferred. At least one year producing newscasts in a commercial newsroom environment, preferably a smaller television market, will set you ahead of the pack. Proficiency with Photoshop and desktop video editing software is preferred. Knowledge of newsroom computer systems such as I-News, AWS, and SLACK is a plus.
