Job Description

The Asset Based Lending (ABL) Portfolio Manager III is primarily responsible for managing a portfolio ABL client relationships to ensure proper credit oversight, collateral and loan administration and financial performance oversight. The PM role has both client-facing responsibilities and credit management responsibilities. The ABL PMs act as a liaison between our credit administration and our clients. These individuals have product and industry expertise working with commercial and corporate borrowers with borrowing needs from $5 million to several hundred million in both a single-lender and syndicated participation or agent roles.

The Credit Product Underwriter role provides a solid foundation for you throughout the organization. Underwriters develop into more senior credit professionals or leverage their experience with clients to transition into sales.

How You'll Spend Your Time

  • You will meet with and get to know your clients and their business needs / challenges
  • You will partner with Commercial and Corporate bankers in various markets (dual coverage model)
  • You will closely monitor collateral performance and trends, order and review appraisals and collateral exams
  • You will monitor financial performance, operating results, projections, and covenant compliance
  • You will negotiate and evaluate credit requests, renewals, default waivers, and other actions and prepare written memos and support them throughout the approval process
  • You will present to credit officers regularly
  • You will take action to proactively protect credit quality, when necessary, up to and including workout and liquidation
  • You will be responsible for internal and external compliance and related reporting


Education & Experience Requirements

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of commercial or ABL relationship management, collateral exam and/or credit underwriting experience; or 14+ years of equivalent work-related experience.
